Walked here from The DoubleTree for an early breakfast in the cool August morning air. Walked in, saw only 2 other customers at 6:45 AM. Great service: Friendly hosts, who also double as great wait staff: Frequent checks at the table, always with a coffee carafe in hand for a warmer. Ordered the chorizo scrambler (made with nearby Sunnyside chorizo), which is topped with melted cheddar cheese and green chile. I opted for no sour cream, which is also standard, per the menu. Sided with home fries and flat-top warmedflour tortillas, which are fluffy-ish, not thin. You guys, this breakfast is pure Southwest magic. We loved seeing the attention a patron's dog outside received as more, and more and more people were waiting for a table. Get here early! You will not be disappointed.

Hands down the best breakfast in the Four Corners region. And yeah, we've tried 'em all. With fresh ingredients cooked by a crew that knows what they're doing and a friendly, helpful staff, College Cafe is ALWAYS a good choice. If you're hungry, check out the Bomb Burrito; the chorizo is to die for, and if you like Eggs Benedict, you won't find a better hollandaise within an 8-hour drive. And locally roasted coffee for the win! The new Downtown Durango digs are bright, cozy, and clean. Get on the waitlist when it's busy, it's worth it😎

The hostess let my wife and I know that they're would be a fifteen to twenty minute wait, and as we waited another couple showed up and she told them it would be a thirty minute wait for them. Ten minutes later the couple asked again if they were indeed on the list and very rudely the hostess told them, "I told you thirty minutes and it's only been like ten". So the couple walked away. We waited for almost thirty minutes before seeing the hostess call the other couple in to sit, so we decided to go somewhere else. My wife told her as much and again the hostess very rudely asked for my wife's name. At that point my wife walked away and the hostess said, "or not". The food isn't that good and definitely not worth putting up with that type of behavior. We instead went to Rupert's about a block up college drive. Mary was an amazing waitress that took great care of us, with a very friendly hostess. They have the best...

Food: Yass: perfect balance of spice, texture, and consistency, which with such strong flavors is a FEAT.

Service: My server was a BOSS; but the blonde'ish woman with incredible tattoo work who sat me/ got me the beverages I'd asked for, was also beyond- DE-LIGHTFUL.

The atomosphere...: Hole-in-the-Wall; but not in a bad way. —It's not handicapped-accessible, which was a challenge, but they are holding to post-COVID measures which means they have online check-in and limited congestion in their very finite space.

All-in-all: Humans servicing Humans with (way)–above average food and service.

I had the Bomb Burrito smothered in green Hatch Chiles. —It was a balanced spice-factory made all the better with attentive service all-round:—even with armies of people trying to get-in.

Your experience here, misunderstandings and unforeseen snafus not withstanding; is all but guaranteed to be a special and...

I’m not sure about the mom and pop breakfast in Durango. I’ve been to 2 here so far and the only thing that has been consistently great is the bacon. There was also some dark berry on the table that taste good as well.

The eggs with Hollandaise sauce wasn’t good, and neither was the biscuits and gravy or French toast. My husband got the burrito with salsa verde and he didn’t like it either. But ate it without complaining because he did want to seem pick.I wished I would have spoken up earlier about not being happy with the dish. Because when I request for my meal to be taken off. The waiter refused to.

This place is over priced. I would be happier with making my own. The service was good until the waiter refused to take off my undesirable lack of taste dish. Everyone has their own set of flavors that make their tummy scream for joy. This wasn’t...
