Novel Kitchen & Bath — Local services in East Brunswick Township

Me and my wife had a very unpleasant experience with Novel Kitchen. We have a kitchen remodeling project at our house for which we had reached out to Novel Kitchen. We landed at this place entirely based on google search and reading the positive reviews. Scheduled a time to visit the store for design purpose. To align on a date and time we co-ordinated with Ian and when we reached the place we were introduced to Ilgar. We visited the store on a weekday and both of us cut our office hours to give ourselves enough time with them to design the kitchen and get quotes.

Spent almost 2+ hours talking through various details and towards the end they gave a sale pitch that the price they gave is valid for next 10 days only with all the discounts applied. Our cost for cabinets itself is more than 25k and we informed them that we need to pick appliances etc so we need atleast 20 days to fix and then do any design adjustments.

From the time we left the store, they have been behaving weird. on calling 2 days later, we were told Ilgar is sick .. then following up next week via phone and email .. no response. Very very unprofessional. I would rather give business to deserving people who value customer time and money.

Hoping that they mend ways. Anyways we are done with dealing with them .

Update: 06/19: Glad that Novel Kitchen has time to respond to the reviews posted cause that is the only way you can get response from them. First of all what you stated is incorrect. Your 1st error : We were not unhappy about the Memorial Deal time window instead we wanted to give ourselves enough time to take a decision and did not want to be bound by some sale deal.

You 2nd Error: You spent extra time on our design. If only you had we would not be having this conversation and instead signing a purchase order. Nothing was shared with us w.r.t any design / updates for which you said you spend more three hours .. maybe another thing you forgot and needed a reminder for. On May 21st at 9:57 am Ian responded to our text stating that Iigar will get back after his day off and will either email or phone. I understand that you are super busy with so many projects all we wanted to know was timeframe and some communication from your end informing by when you can get back ... radio silence does not help.

Your 3rd Error: Rather assumption that this is the 4th designer review we posted . Well if businesses do not deal with customers professional other innocent customers need to know about it. Go back and read what other people have said about the same businesses I have expressed my opinion for. Customers need to help each other.

You say that if only one email or phone from our end would have helped. If you are so swamped that you lose track of customers then maybe an indication of getting help. I did followup on phone and email after that I am not a secretary or getting paid to give you reminders.

Nevertheless, If you had taken the time that you took to write a response to my review and instead focused on the work that had to be done, things would have been different.

I had a very challenging time to figure out my kitchen remodeling project until I met Novel Kitchen & Bath Staff. We had numerous conversations with Marguerite regarding our new kitchen and she was very patient, understood our requirement very well and not only designed the project but also be with us throughout the project and deliver it on time. We are glad to work with her during this project and her honest opinion and guidance really helped us in executing this project at a reasonable cost and with excellent finishing. I would definitely recommend Novel kitchen & bath to anyone looking to renovate their bathroom or kitchen. We received an amazing service from Marguerite McCluskey, senior designer. My husband and I need to renovate our master bathroom (which was old, ugly with a big unused jacuzzi) At the beginning I was skeptical, I wasn’t sure what I wanted. Marguerite helped us amazingly! She helped us with the design of our vanity, helped us to choose the best countertop, we chose quartz that matched perfectly with our shower and floor tiles. Marguerite gave us a lot of suggestions and valuable practical tips, which we gladly used. She was on a top of everything, was always in contact with us via email and phone calls. The project was done in a timely manner and a great quality. Our bathroom now is modern, functional and absolutely beautiful.
