I was so excited to see Capriotti's in Downingtown. I was born and raised in DE and i remember my parents going there. Nothing beats a good Delaware sub!! We happened to go there the first day they were opened and met the owner Heathe. We got a free small sub that day and it was excellent. Went back a couple months later and when i got home my Lg wagyu beef sub wasn't made right... it was missing the tomato and onion. Since the shop was closed by the time i got home i went online and sent a comment... never heard a word back. Now 2 weeks later i decided to give it another try. Ordered lg italian Sub, lg turkey and lg waygu beef. Got home and NO ITALIAN.. instead got 1 turkey.. without mayo ... and got another half made turkey missing mayo tomato onion...The beef one was missing mayo also. This was after calling in order arriving to pick up.. waited 10 min before was waited on .. was told they were working on them.. i paid.. then waited another 20 min went back up and told the guy my situation he said oh they are doing them now. Wth. I called and talked to mgr Stewart... he did agree to refund me ...but i paid in cash so now i have to go get my money back. I live 40 min away. I know this chain makes great sandwiches but not this shop. Management needs...
Read moreFirst time, wifey wanted to check them out so of course I'm game for a lunch run. The customer service was great. Matt really sold us on the fries, they were hot, crispy, salty & tasty. That's amazing because its hard getting hot delicious fries from places. Sandwichs were very tasty, the only downer was, the lady who assembled our Italian, forgot the onions, tomatoes & oregano. It happens, nevertheless, it was good bite but the missing toppings really would've set it off. The meatball sub was very good as well. Everything tasted fresh & that's pleasing. And shout out for serving the subs up on a delicious Liscio roll! That always elevates a hoagie in my book. I rate it four stars because there is always room for improvement however the mere fact that y'all are roasting & de-boning turkeys on site & chopping steak on the grill makes this chain pretty close to perfect in my book for sandwich shops. I'm mad I slept on Capriotti's for so long....
Read moreThis past Monday I stopped by after work. First time at a Capriotti's, I had heard their sandwiches were good but I figured it would just be like Subway. I am so glad I was wrong.
Their cheese steaks are good! I try every cheesesteak place I can and they really know what they're doing. No skimping on the meat, cheese melted in, fresh roll...delicious! I got the onions on the side because most places cook them in a way I don't like (raw, or slimy, too big, etc.) but instead they were chopped up fine, crunchy, soft, sweet, some char! Went great with my sandwich.
The manager Michael was friendly, easy going, told me about the store and their food since I was curious and he knew it was my first time. He checked in to see what I thought and to make sure my eating experience was good. I recommend, I'm glad I know a place I can gladly go in case I'm ever on the road and don't know any of the sandwich...
