One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I am 7 months pregnant… Malone’s was next to my hotel and I was excited reading the reviews so I took my babies. We got to the restaurant around 6:30 it wasn’t very busy there were maybe 8 tables and about half wrapping up their meals. Naya was our server when she came around the first time to get my and my babies’ drinks we weren’t ready to order so she said she’d give us a minute. She brought us our drinks didn’t come back literally until 7:27 to get our food order. We sat there waiting patiently. When she finally did return I didn’t make any fuss and I honestly wasn’t upset she was very sweet in the beginning. I had noticed my phone was going to die and I was going to be using Apple Pay as I had forgotten my card at the hotel we finally ordered meal was $97 on top of the $20 tip I left IN ADVANCE. I ordered a salad it was ok she brought it out quick. But after that I didn’t see her again. She didn’t come check on us she didn’t refill our drinks or anything. For our meal I order a medium well ribeye for nearly $40 with mashed potatoes, chicken strips and friend, and wings and fries for my son and daughter. I also asked her to bring us a chocolate cheesecake in a Togo box. After the food was paid for and she got her tip she never came back. I am a chef in a restaurant myself and orders like that take MAYBE 15 minutes especially because the steak isn’t cooked all the way and I ordered premade potatoes. Also my babies food was fried we didn’t get our food until nearly 8:30 pm and when she brought it to the table she tried rushing away but my son said his chicken strips and fries were “really cold” I asked her to wait and I cut my steak it was bone dry well done ice cold and the potatoes were ice cold and thick my daughters wings were burnt to a crisp with the fries and ice cold too. Naya had the nerve to say “I figured you’d say everything was cold I knew when I pulled it” like so ok why would you bring it to our table then? We already waited an hour you should asked for fresh foods mind you she only had 1 other table besides us. I asked for at least fresh fries they came out quick but my babies didn’t want to eat there anymore so I got to go boxes and ended up just not taking anything because it was all garbage. After bringing the Togo boxes I asked her to take off MY MEAL ONLY I didn’t eat a bite of it she did and she never returned. I waited to see if she would bring our cheesecake she never did. So I went to the host stand she was coming around the corner and her whole expression changed from pleasant to irritated. I reminded her she never brough our cheesecake at this point it was literally 9:15. I told the host I needed a manager to take the cheesecake off he was extremely rude and said “well I already took the steak off” so I had to remind him I was going to pay for a cheesecake I never got and waited nearly 2 hours to get. I told him she could keep the tip and I wasn’t asking for the full ticket to be comped even though it should’ve been. I just wanted to leave. He took it off and was just unpleasant the entire time. Naya walked off shaking her head chuckling and said “ we could’ve just went to the freezer and just got it” as she walked away. Not realizing she shouldve “just went to the freezer” in the first place max The hostess decided to chime in while I was talking to the manager and said “ok we get it you like your stuff the way you like it” I ended up buying tuna packs for me and my babies and finally eating at 9:30. This place is so bad & unprofessional and I would NEVER recommend it. Again, I am I chef , a food blogger, and also a local guide who self employed and I run a catering business I would NEVER treat anyone they way we were treated. I wouldn’t waste my time eating here. Bad food, bad attitudes,...
Read moreMy family and I are staying in Atlanta for the night before we fly out to NY tomorrow. We wanted a good meal at a steakhouse. We looked up steakhouse and many of the ones first listed were mucho dinero. We finally scrolled to Malone's. All of our nice clothes are packed up. We were looking pretty casual so we wanted a venue that was casual too.
Arriving at Malone's, I didn't know how I was going to feel about the place. There were staff members out front hanging out. The building looked pretty run down. It wasn't the best first impression. We walked in and were instantly greeted by several people. We did make a reservation but it wasn't needed. It was early enough that it was still kinda slow.
We were sat at a table next to the big windows. We checked out our dinner menu while our server situation was being worked on. Our server was given a table and she had barely made it into work. The hostess grabbed our drink order and when our server finally arrived she dropped them off to us.
After looking over the menu, we all finally ordered dinner. My husband started off with a side ceaser salad. For our main course I got grilled shrimp and my husband got a ribeye. The sides are already predetermined for you. They don't want you to change your sides. It's good they are pretty common things. It would have been awful to be served something you're not interested in eating.
I appreciate how hot our plates were. It kept our food that much hotter from the kitchen to our table. My grilled shrimp looked fabulous! I got 10 chunky pieces of shrimp. They were grilled perfectly. They also gave me a generous side of rice pilaf. The rice was fluffy and buttery. The green beans were fresh! I like that they removed the stems off the green beans. It's amazing how many restaurants serve green beans with the stem on them still. I didn't leave one green bean on my plate. My husband's steak was juicy and tender. It was more cooked than he would have liked but since it was so tender he didn't mind. I love the char on the steak, it's my favorite. His mashed potatoes were tasty! Creamy, buttery and flavorful!
Sha'Daria did a fantastic job taking care of us tonight. She has a beautiful soul and I'm happy she took care of us. We got to end our trip with a great meal! If we are ever back in the Atlanta area, it's just common sense to eat here again. If you're looking for a casual steakhouse, Malone's...
