I dont know where to begin with my experience story on 10-01-2022 at Carpaccio.
My fiance booked a table at 8:30 pm for us to celebrate a special moment with our family and friends which is our engagement. However, the nightmare began when we arrived to the restaurant.
First, we were approached by very rude waiter who told us that they wont sit us without even asking if we do have the reservation nor not. That waiter doesnt care much to be polite to us since we came to spend money at Carpacio. When we requested to speak with the manager, this waiter got an attitude with us and say NO that we wont call for a manager and left us by the host desk without a proper explanation. Another thing, than another waiter came to us and only her called for "manager" after 15 mins waiting. I dont even say that she is a main manager because she could not explain anything whats going on. The main manager couldnt face us and stayed all the way in the back. We have been in this restaurant and in the Miami one as well.
Also, when we arrived the serves werent informed about our reservation at all, the reservation book was closed. It indicates that they dont care about people in generally. No hospitality in this place. Another thing is that they sat people on our reserved table. Its a huge disrespect to the reservation. Even the table is booked and busy, the restaurant cant sit the table which is booked proor to reservation time.
They did not even try to accomadate us at all and basically throwing us out by telling us no, we wont sit you and even it was that crazy busy. They could call us 2 hours ahead of time to notify us that kitchen as they said collapse. Noone did notified us.
This place has zero knowledge about hospitality in the restaurant settings and how to treat a customer. Lets not forget that your salaris are getting paid from your customer pocket. Basically, we have been throwing out.
Big thank you for messing up my engagement dinner.
Whatever you say, it doesnt justify my ruined dinner, a bad attitude at the door by the server, poor accompdation, not calling us in advance to let us know that we cant be sitted, our booked table was taken and noone knew about our reservation period. NO proper sorry said.
This restaurant, management and staff are so careless for such a fancy place. How did they get hired in the first place then?
This is the worst place on earth I have been at.
People dont come here to waste your time on rude, careless and disrespectful behavior. It doesnt worth your time and...
Read moreThis was such a disappointment. I was a regular at the Bal Harbour location (I grew up there) and was so very excited to try the NJ location (actually 2 of us went to Bal Harbour regularly and were looking forward to this)… the experience was nothing like any of my experiences in Florida. The food, while quite good, was nothing special. There is no ambience to be had at a restaurant in a mall that makes no effort to disguise the fact that it is a restaurant in a mall. Lastly, the service - mistakes were made from start to finish, not to mention they assumed that two TEENAGE children could not read and then assumed a grown man was a child (they even brought his meal out with the children’s meals - he was so embarrassed he couldn’t bring himself to say anything). I felt very unwelcome here. I think that is what did us in - not one person made us feel welcome or even attempted to try. None of the usual banter, switched waiters 20 minutes in without a word and without the other waiter putting in our drink orders, time just slipped by as we sat hungry and thirsty in a restaurant. When we inquired as to why there was a delay we were told everyone came in at once and the kitchen was backed up. That just wasn’t true. We were sitting at the entrance staring at empty tables all around us, one other party arrived before us and another couple after us. Hmmm. I can see the kitchen - they were not hustling in any way. And why should I have to ask about the delay? Why aren’t you proactively letting me know? It felt like they did not want us there. I enjoy shopping, I tend to indulge in luxury items whenever I feel like it and I love great restaurants - all reasons I chose to go to American Dream mall to try Carpaccio. I am so disappointed. My friends laughed and said I should have known better. Luxury does not...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place and hate to give this type of review. We figured that the only "fancy" restaraunt at the American Dream has to be good right? We can't go wrong right? The Service was good but, the food was just bad. I ordered their special, the Branzino as whenever a place has it as a special. it's my go to dish. When I put in my order I specifically asked if they could sear the outside to give it that delicious crispy outside texture which they told me of course. I can have it any way that I want it. Unfortunately when it arrived, it was drowned in their picatta sauce which made the entire dish soggy making the dish almost inedible. The fish was also overly fishy in taste.
Aside from the bad fish, the Cesar salad I ordered was just okay. Quite frankly, I prefer my own home made Cesar that takes just two minutes to whip up.
My girl ordered the Veal, she enjoyed the first bite or two but, as she got deeper into her dish it too was soggy underneath the cheese. She ultimately did't finish it and we didn't order anything further. Normally we'd box anything we didn't finish and take it home but, we just let them take it away. Unfortunately nothing we ordered was any good.
Worst thing about all of this is that we had to walk to the complete other side of the mall just to eat at Carpaccio's!! And they charge a premium for this (in my opinion), low...
