Happy Cones Co Ice Cream — Restaurant in Edgewater

Quick pre review thought, I have not had the NZ style ice cream, didnt even know what it was and I'm a huge soft serve fan so in a future visit I plan on trying it.

Actual review....so I've been here several times, a few by myself and a time or two with my kiddos. Me and my kiddos make special trips just to go to different Colorado ice cream shops. Happy Cones offers some great options on flavors. The creaminess really shines and the fruit based ones give you a really fresh fruit flavor. The chocolate brownie has chunks of brownie in it that are crazy good. Have you ever had brownie ice cream that's good but, you get to a brownie piece and you think, dang the brownie isn't that great? It's the opposite here, I actually thought about going in and asking if they sold separate brownies. Ok so here's my final take. And I apologize if I'm going on a long review rant, lol....so I'm a foodie, one of the ways I judge things is by getting something simple and traditionally not considered the stand out option by which to judge. Like pizza, I get basic cheese, if I'm blown away, I know other options are going to be spectacular. So here I get the Sweet Cream ice cream. I honestly can't say enough about Hap and his amazing ice cream. I first had his New Zealand-style ice cream a few years ago when he was zooming his ice cream truck around the city at various events. Not only was I blown away by the ice cream, but Hap is one of the most genuine and kind people I've ever met. He's one of those guys who makes you feel comfortable immediately, laughs at your jokes, and gives you a, "Cheers, mate!" at the end of every interaction. But you should see for yourself. He and his adorable family have created their own space at the new Edgewater Public Market and, of course, the ice cream is just as good.....and it's ever-expanding with inventive flavors, like the "Impeach-mint," which was a personal favorite! Absolutely not. Never again. We went after we got food that was awesome and we were having a really good evening until we got ice cream. My husband accidentally ordered a waffle cone instead of a sugar cone for my daughter and when we told the girl she was very rude about. Behind the counter under her breath to the other worker she said “anything for you” like what?! No. Absolutely not. Don’t like your job, quit but no need to have an attitude at the end of the evening on a Sunday! Really uncalled for. Don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.
