TL;DR: Johnny Mo's Pizzeria offers excellent pizza and tasty calzones in a warm, welcoming environment. The 'University Bridge' pizza and 'Hot and Spicy' calzone were standout dishes, while the bustling atmosphere adds to the charm.
Full Review: Johnny Mo's Pizzeria is a fantastic spot for pizza lovers, offering a warm welcome and a charming atmosphere. From the moment our party arrived, we were promptly greeted and treated warmly by the staff. The interior, while decently designed, adds a cozy and inviting vibe, making it an enjoyable place to hang out. The restaurant was bustling, filled with people from all walks of life, which added to the lively and energetic atmosphere. The TVs playing sports were a nice touch for those who enjoy catching a game while dining.
The menu at Johnny Mo's Pizzeria is extensive, with starters, salads, pastas, sandwiches, and desserts providing a wide range of options. We decided to try the 'University Bridge' pizza and two calzones. The 'University Bridge' pizza, topped with mozzarella, homemade sauce made from imported tomatoes, sausage, red bell peppers, red onions, kalamata olives, portobello mushrooms, and fresh garlic, was absolutely delicious. The crispy thin crust, flavorful sauce, and delectable toppings made it the highlight of our meal.
The calzones were also noteworthy. The 'Hot and Spicy' calzone, filled with meatballs, jalapenos, roasted red pepper, fresh garlic, ricotta, mozzarella, and homemade tomato sauce, was perfect, offering a delightful kick of spice and rich flavors. The spinach calzone, on the other hand, featured spinach, garlic, mozzarella, parmesan, and homemade tomato sauce. While it was good, it was a bit bland compared to the other dishes.
We also tried the 'Skillet Meatballs Al Forno,' which featured braised meatballs topped with homemade sauce made from imported tomatoes, basil, and a blend of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, served with fresh bread. This dish was a comforting and flavorful addition to our meal.
Overall, Johnny Mo's Pizzeria is an excellent choice for anyone craving delicious pizza and calzones. The lively atmosphere, friendly staff, and well-executed dishes make it a top-notch pizzeria. Just be prepared for a bustling scene, especially during peak hours.

Read moreYikes. I don’t know if it was the end of the day or if they didn’t have the right staff, but I will not be going back here for pizza.
We put in a pickup order at 8p.m online, as directed by their automated message when you call them.
Firstly, the pizzas pictured online are a HUGE misrepresentation of what you’re ordering vs what you get. Unless you cross check closely what’s in the picture vs what’s listed as the pizza toppings, you’ll be grossly disappointed (and honestly, even then.) We ordered the large veggie pizza and added pepperoni. The pizza itself came out to about $40 before tax. You can see from the picture on the online order form it is a complete misrepresentation of what’s actually on the pizza. Why is there spinach in the picture? Different types of olives? Plus a SIGNIFICANT difference in the amount of toppings that came overall.. ours looked like a cheese and marinara pizza with a few slices of veggies strewn across it.
Aside from the toppings issue, the pizza was underdone. The undercarriage was almost doughy and flaccid and would rip apart when you picked it up.
The other issue was the service. We put the order in at 8p. Pickup time said 8:50. Was waiting there from 8:40 until about 9p during which we watched multiple people come in and leave before us. Not sure why it takes an hour to make a sad pizza, a salad, and some garlic knots, but it took forever. The host seemed aloof and dismissive and gave zero cares to helping us get our order, and was completely preoccupied with sitting there and chatting it up with their friend. “Which order was it again? Oh ya, it’s not ready yet”.
Overall hugely disappointed. Spent a total of $80. Will not...
Read moreMy original review was 5 stars but we just went back and unfortunately the experience was so bad that its dropped to 2 stars. The food is delicious, but the place is criminally understaffed so it took 45 minutes to get our food when the place was only 1/4 full. It wasn’t even busy they just had TWO employees for the entire restaurant. One cook making everything, and one waiter/hostess/bartender. They were clearly overwhelmed and burnt out so they were moving slow, complained in front of us, cussed in front of our small children, and just didn’t care anymore.
It is so sad to see because when the place was first opened it was packed but the staff were excited, very kind and professional, and the food came out FASTER than today even with way more customers. But today was just terrible. We saw multiple families just get up and leave because it was taking almost an hour to get anything and it wasn’t even busy!
Khalo’s made the exact same mistake (always understaffed so the service is terrible and takes forever) so its really sad to see one of our favorite pizza places decline so rapidly. One pizza is $37 dollars which is already really expensive and there is so many great options in Edmonds and the surrounding area that I wouldn’t recommend this place until their management wakes up...
