I had the misfortune of visiting Molly Moon's Ice Cream Shop, and let me tell you, it was a total letdown. I cannot believe this place has any positive reviews. My visit here left me feeling utterly unsatisfied and frustrated.
First and foremost, let's talk about the lack of seating. Who in their right mind opens an ice cream shop without providing a single place for customers to sit down and enjoy their treat? It's like they want you to gulp down your ice cream on the sidewalk like some kind of savage. Finding a spot to stand and eat your ice cream can be a real challenge, especially during peak hours when the place is packed. I ended up wandering around like a lost soul with my melting scoop.
And if the absence of seating wasn't bad enough, brace yourself for the shocker - there are no bathrooms! I couldn't believe it. How can any establishment expect customers to consume ice cream without offering restroom facilities? It's not only inconvenient but also unhygienic. When nature calls, you're left desperately searching for a nearby public restroom or having to cut short your visit just to relieve yourself. It's incredibly frustrating and a clear sign of poor planning on the part of the management.
Molly Moon's should be ashamed of themselves for this utter lack of consideration for their patrons. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but when they don't even provide the most basic amenities, it's hard to justify coming back.
To top it off, the staff didn't seem to care about the inconvenience caused by the lack of seating and bathrooms. They were indifferent and unapologetic, almost as if it was the customers' fault for expecting such basic comforts.
I don't care how delicious the ice cream is supposed to be; the overall experience was a complete disaster. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere for your ice cream fix where they actually treat their customers with respect and provide the necessary facilities. Molly Moon's Ice Cream Shop deserves nothing more than a one-star rating until they get their...
Read moreTL;DR: Molly Moon's in Edmonds offers fantastic ice cream with a commitment to local ingredients. The strawberry shortcake sundae, cookie dough, and melted chocolate flavors were exceptional. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere make it a top choice for a sweet treat.
Full Review: Molly Moon's in Edmonds is a delightful ice cream haven that impresses with both its quality and commitment to local ingredients. From the moment you step inside, it's evident that the team works hard to create deliciousness. Partnering with local farmers and producers—from jam-makers and beekeepers to strawberry farmers and coffee roasters—they transform the best, freshest, and most creative local flavors into truly outstanding ice cream.
Our party sampled the strawberry shortcake sundae, cookie dough, and melted chocolate flavors, and each one was a standout. The strawberry shortcake sundae was a perfect balance of sweet and tart, with fresh strawberry flavor shining through. The cookie dough was indulgent and satisfying, with generous chunks of dough in every bite. The melted chocolate was rich, creamy, and intensely chocolatey, making it a must-try for any chocolate lover.
The texture of the ice cream was smooth, rich, and creamy, hitting all the right notes. It’s the perfect treat for any occasion, whether you're looking for a random indulgence or a sweet finish to a nearby meal.
The staff at Molly Moon's were efficient and courteous, adding to the pleasant experience. The interior of the shop is well-designed and inviting, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy your ice cream.
Molly Moon's in Edmonds is an excellent ice cream shop that not only serves outstanding flavors but also supports local producers. The combination of fantastic ice cream, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a top choice for anyone craving a sweet treat.

Read moreI love ice cream and I love Edmonds- no person had to ask me twice to try out a new ice cream shop in Edmonds 🤪
My first impression of Molly Moon’s was that the plants and architecture are pretty.
Second, the shop is small. I was surprised there wasn’t any indoor seating and especially no highchair in sight to set down a fussy toddler.
Third, the environment felt cold. Staff appeared frenzied and didn’t bother to ask if we’ve been to their chain before or to warmly welcome us as new customers. The way the flow is, customers go through the door on the right, enter the line, order, pay, and are pushed outside through the door on the left. I’d be ok with this except, there weren’t any tables and chairs to sit down at. People were sitting on a concrete wall that looked uncomfortable for them and was certainly uncomfortable for us.
My son and I shared two scoops of the honey lavender ice cream with whipped cream topping. The ice cream was ok, but mostly flavorless. I didn’t care for the whipped cream which is abnormal for me because I order it on everything at every opportunity I have. I didn’t think bad-tasting whipped cream was a possibility in my lifetime, but I guess it is.
My son’s dad ordered a kid-sized mocha chip flavor. It was also ok, but I found the mocha flavor to be overpowering. In total, we paid $14 or $4.6/scoop.
Recently I asked a friend, “what kind of person rates a place two stars?” Here I am, it’s me 🤣😭 I am rating two stars because Molly Moon’s is not repulsive (in regards to the shop and ice cream itself), but I do think is worse than average. My recommendation for friends, family, and the general public is to save some $ and memory-making opportunities from this subpar experience by trying out other ice cream offerings in the area. I personally...
