Had to change my original post of how awesome this store is. After the second time having horrible service, I felt the need to one star this store. Order placed through Active Menu, and they couldn't find our order. My wife went in to get order straightened out as we received a notification that they didn't have sautéed mushrooms. That's when we realize they can't find out order. Four different people looked at the situation before they found it. They kept trying to say it wasn't a big deal, they were giving us a free burger. We already paid for the order, we just wanted our food. She orders her burger and side and they said they would fast track the order. She returned to the car and we waited 20 minutes. I went in and asked for our order and eas told they were still working on the order. A person came out to say my wife didn't order a side and needed to know what she wanted. I confirmed her side and ordered it again. I waited 19 minutes before they brought my order out to me. During that time I watched the hostess purposely try to walk people away. Instead of greeting people she would just immediately say they have a 1 hour wait. There are much better ways to tell someone you have a long wait. Aggressively telling them your wait time is intentionally walking people. I walked through the store and there were maybe 10 tables with people at them. The rest of the store was empty. The back room literally had two tables with diners. The middle dinning room 4 or 5 tables and the bar has 2 to 3 tables seated. No table was more than 4 people per table. When asked why there was such a long wait with so many open tables, the hostess said they were shirt staffed and stressed out. This definitely will be our last trip to this Red Robin until they fix their service. When asked who the General Manager is, they couldn't decide in the person's name. The hostess said the GM is new. Hopefully they...
Read moreExcellent service, but food was a disappointment! The corporate changes to the burger (beef used for hamburgers), along with cooking method by using flat grill instead of open flame cooking, produces a 1960’s grease filled burger, that while tasty, is just way too much grease. The only choice of bun is this horrible brioche bun that further takes away from the quality of burger that we have come to expect from Red Robin. By the time you receive your burger you will find the lower bun soggy with grease to the point that it’s gross to hold and it drips grease as much as this new “juicier burger” does. The menu now lacks in appetizer choices! You can choose between wings, other wings, and yet other wings. Oh they do have fried pickles and onion rings.
The atmosphere itself is fine, except the heat was controlled off site. The dining areas of the restaurant were easily 90 degrees. I witnessed a family come in , get seated, change seats because they were being blasted by heat, and finally get up and walk out because it was unbearable. My family changed seats twice before finding a spot that was a bit more bearable.
Overall, it wasn’t that our restaurant in Edwardsville, Illinois gave poor service or poor quality. Service was above many other restaurants! The food was what corporate has allowed. Corporate changes in what they perceive as better, (probably more profitable in thought), will have this chain as a mere memory in less than a decade. Red Robin used to be our first choice in burger restaurants. I’m not certain if we will even go back. If the complete grease burger is what you crave, Red Robin might be your choice. But in today’s world of try to eat healthier, burger restaurants aren’t up on the list of choice eateries. Being a midwesterner with a fondness for a good burger, its sad to say that Red Robin no longer...
Read moreWow I don't know where to begin with this visit. I give on 5 stars 1st off they wanted to sit us and a small booth and with my legs I can't sit in a small booth so they searched around the entire restaurant to find me a place to sit where I could stretch my legs out due to health issues that was from the host. After seating us one waitress came up and took our drink order in politely stated that our way Trish would be with us momentarily but she was gonna get our drinks her name was Kara. Then our waitress comes over and takes our order very polite very friendly very outgoing. After receiving our food my French fries were not even Luke warm and my wife flag down a 3rd waitress and asked if she could get us some hot fries even though she was not our waitress she was very understanding took the cold fries to the kitchen as that was taking place the manager came over and asked how everything was very sweet loving personality the manager had show the 3rd waitress brings me my fries and asked how they were and they were steaming hot just the way I like them. One way Tris which was not our normal weight Chris Cara struck conversation with us as if she had known us her entire life which made our visit very warm. Thank you Red Robin For hiring carrying in kind employees and it was so genuine that everyone I encountered with At this location.
