My wife and I were doing a Samâs Club run and decided to try a restaurant weâve never visited, so it was during the afternoon hours when we came to this restaurant. It wasnât crowded at all, which has been our experience when there isnât a crowd, itâs not a crowd favorite. We ordered the breakfast plates, I had the pancakes and my wife had the biscuits and gravy. We are from a farming community so we are half decent subject matter experts on farm fresh. The pancakes were fluffy and properly prepared with that golden brown texture, however it was missing great pancake flavor. With pancakes being a part of the name, it should have been the star of show. Eggs plays huge part in fluffy pancakes and if I were making them, I would added vanilla extract, brown sugar and melted butter. My wifeâs biscuit was not homemade, they were frozen biscuits. The bacon and sausage were not locally sourced. Overall the food was not bad but it wasnât good either. Given the location, I hope the management put more love into the food and give us the farm fresh taste...
Read moreOur family tried Golden Oak for the first time today. We were seated quickly. They have 1 bathroom for men and 1 for women (1 person at a time). Lines were forming, and people were standing by people that were eating. No one asked my 9 and 10 year old if they wanted a kids menu - so we didnât know it was an option. My kids ordered pancakes, my husband ordered a skillet, I ordered eggs and bacon. The coffee did not taste good. We usually get refills, and we couldnât finish one cup. The food came quickly and they brought my husband the wrong food. It took 5-10 minutes for the waitress to come so we could let her know. The food tasted decent. Got the bill⊠yikes! $9 for 2 pancakes? $4 for a side of bacon? $3 for 2 pieces of toast (white bread)? Oh - the âkids menus were in the back, your kids ordered off of the standard menuâŠâ $58 later - I we wonât be back. For that amount of money there are several other better options...
Read moreI took my family here for a late Fatherâs Day Brunch and we were so pleased with our experience. My dad loved the Biscuits and Gravy. My mom and I tried the Garden Omelette which was loaded with all my favorite veggies. They were still busy from their lunch rush but the restaurant was clearing out as we got our food. We decided to sit on the patio since it was such a nice day. Iâm so grateful we did because we got to meet DeShaun(sp?) who was such a great server. He was kind, informative and supplied us with all our requests. I was very impressed with the staff, food and service we received. Buka(sp?)the manager was so professional and supportive of her staff. She had excellent energy!!! We will be back again very soon and will be asking for DeShaun if he is available. Thank you Golden Oak for a...
