Gorditas Mariana #2 — Restaurant in El Paso

I wanted to love this place due to a family recommendation to make it my gordita place. But my order of eleven gorditas was all wrong. Requested four chicharron gorditas in the order but received other gorditas. Could have been because they were running low on chicharron. I felt scam. No problem since all the Gordita were priced the same. I should have checked before taking off but since the gorditas were already wrapped and inside the bag, it was just a hassle. One might comment why I didn't take them back, for the reason I live too far away. The moral of the story is to always check what you purchase before leaving. Even if the business is family business.

Flavor wise the gordita needs more seasoning, easily...

A friend of mine came up from Austin. He grew up here on El Paso and wanted to grab a bite at an old spot he liked. Of course I was down cause you know food.. so we pulled up to a little place had that old school feel. Nothing spectacular. My buddy bragged about the gorditas. The service was kind and helpful, like you are eating at your Tia's house. I ordered a Chile con queso and a Carne con Chile rojo.thr size of the gordita was pretty good. Typically don’t review restaurants negatively BUT the costumer service is mediocre at BEST. Worst attitude from the cook & occasionally from cashier, depends if she’s in the mood. Officially quitting this place after they saw me waiting at the register & completely disregarded I was there, once they felt like asking what we wanted they start laughing amongst themselves (I guess at the fact that they made me wait?)
