I have NEVER written a bad review before but people need to be aware of this restaurant. I have been a customer at this restaurant since I moved to El Paso a year ago and my husband and I loved the food and the service. During my most recent visit, I had a VERY terrible experience. When we walked in our server approached us to seat us and we told him we would like to be seated at a table with a Korean BBQ grill since we knew that we were going to eat the KBBQ and he left without seating us or saying anything to us. We were standing and waiting to be seated for 15 minutes while our server tended to other tables and ignored us until someone from the back approached us and we told him the same thing we told the server and he had us sit at another table while they cleaned one with a grill. We were very confused because this had never happened before in our previous 5-10 visits. When we sat at our new table the server came with our menus but failed to give us the one with the Korean BBQ items when we told him already we were going to be having that. We had to flag him down after waiting for 10-15 minutes for him to come back to receive the menus. After we ordered, everything was fine until our order of meats started coming out. The table they sat us at had no griddle to cook the meat on and we waited over 40 minutes for them to bring one out and turn the fire on. The server didn't check on us and would just drop off the order and leave without giving us the chance to ask for the griddle. The man who helped seat us also came out with some orders and asked us how everything was when we FINALLY could ask for a griddle to cook on. At this point, I was extremely disappointed by our service and just wanted to eat and leave which is what we did. We packed up our leftovers and left as soon as we were done. An hour after we ate there my husband and I started having severe food poisoning symptoms. Today my husband tried to call the restaurant to inform them about the food poisoning and didn't speak a word about the service and was hung up on twice. I called the restaurant on my phone and was livid at this point that this was even happening and was told to call back tomorrow when they aren't "busy". I used to love this place but this experience has extremely altered my view of it and I don't think I will...
Read moreWe've been here multiple times before, even before the new owner change! The food was delicious, but once we came back after they added the hotpot, the food AND service became worse.
After just ordering drinks, our server ignored us and a table that came in after was able to order and eat long before he came back to take our order. A table next to us were ignored for at least 10 minutes before they were greated, and it was just us 2 tables in the entire restaurant! The servers never checked up, they forgot food and we had to go up and ask for it. We had empty drinks the entire meal. And again we had to go up to the register for the check.
We tried ordered rolled beef, crab and ramen for the hotpot, and 2 tonkotsu ramen. The beef broth was very bland so it made everything that was cooked unseasoned. The hotpot ramen was a different ramen than used in the tonkotsu, it was again flavorless and slimy. The pork in the tonkotsu was very chewy and had a lot of fat, we couldn't stomach to eat it. Everything else in the tonkotsu ramen was perfect! It was flavorful and the noodles were perfectly cooked.
Overall I think they need to rethink their menu and create it smaller, with more seasonings! Servers really need to be trained or replaced, it was unacceptable how we were treated, being that there was only 2 tables at a time in the restaurant. There was no excuses on how they both acted, coming from a server. If you come, just get ramen! It's the only thing that's worth the price, but don't expect...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant while in town to see family and take care of some business. I ordered the Caterpillar Roll, Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, and a side of fried rice.
The Caterpillar Roll was a highlight of the meal—beautifully presented, with each piece tasting incredibly fresh. The avocado was creamy, the eel was tender, and the overall temperature was perfect, giving it that delightful chilled texture sushi lovers appreciate.
The Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen arrived piping hot with a rich, flavorful broth. The noodles were cooked just right, and the toppings—especially the soft-boiled egg and pork—added layers of texture and taste. My only minor complaint was that the spice level could have been kicked up a notch. While it was flavorful, I was hoping for a bit more heat to really match the “spicy” label.
As for the fried rice, it was decent but a little underwhelming compared to the rest of the meal. It had a good, balanced flavor but felt a bit plain. Adding chicken or shrimp would have taken it to the next level.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was another strong point—cozy, welcoming, and well-suited for both casual and business meals. The service was also fast and professional, with the staff attentive without being intrusive.
Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would definitely return, especially for the...
