Unfortunately I had a terrible experience because I never got my food. The server either forgot to place my order 2 times after I reminded her, and this is after she tried to bring me the wrong order in the first place, & then tried to tell me that’s what I ordered. There was constant arguing in the kitchen between an older male & older female & it seemed like the server in the front was getting yelled at often by them. They didn’t seem to be doing much in the kitchen while the girl in the front was running around doing much more than she should probably be responsible for. I’ve seen terrible management in restaurants & this is it for sure. The two others with me that got their food were happy with the food itself. The service/management is just not there for this place to be running efficiently, especially in order for multiple tables to be taken care of. I left hungry and won’t be coming back to dine in. Order Togo instead & maybe they’ll get the order right and ready on time. They also have a menu item wrongly labeled. The Mao Pao Tofu has beef in it, but is labeled vegetarian on the menu. They need to fix this before someone orders it and eats it thinking it doesn’t have animal...
Read moreFront clerk is incompetent. I ordered online and when I walked in to pick up my order the cashier didn't even bother to ask for my name or phone number he just said that the order wasn't ready yet. Even though there was an order MY ORDER sitting right there on the counter! I sat and waited for about 10 minutes watching him be similarly incompetent with other customers who walked in before I decided to check the counter for myself and see what was there. If you order to go make sure you consider that the man behind the counter is likely an idiot and you should be as direct as possible with him.
As for the food I ordered the special fried rice and the BBQ pork bao, both were the worst food I've ever had. The pork was flavorless and mushy and the fried rice wasn't even fried not to mention basically not seasoned at all.
So for the price of $25 for the two items I paid for the privilege of terrible service and horrible food.
As the ancient Chinese saying goes having an idiot front man will make your entire business look like it's run by incompetent jerks, therefore it would be wise to choose...
Read moreI really like this restaurant but unfortunately it misses the 5 star mark. I think their authentic food is the way to go here because they apparently cannot do the more Americanized dish as well. The orange chicken, for example, is mall quality. However, their pepper spicy chicken is one of the best renditions I’ve had. It is authentic, with lots of Ma La flavor. Their cumin lamb lacked the signature cumin flavor and was disappointing. Their pricing is also deceptive. You have to add $4.50 for hand pulled noodles and pay for rice as well. Their egg rolls are also spring rolls and nothing to write home about. All in all likely the best Chinese restaurant in El Paso due to the quality traditional Sichuan dishes. Stay away from the American dishes because they are not good at all.
Just saw another review in the orange chicken. They clearly don’t know how to make it. It’s trash. Stick to the traditional dishes. Could be a 5 star place but a couple of bad problems...
