I wish I could give this place 1000 stars ! I am originally from El Paso but I live in dallas , And by far these are the BEST tamales ever ! In El Paso there is a big competition when it comes to authentic tamales and in Dallas there’s literally no where you can find a good tamales . So everytime I come in town this is my first stop ! Literally ! Even when my grandpa comes down to Dallas for thanksgiving or holidays I always send him money to bring me multiple dozens because they are just so delicious! I crave them ! On thanksgiving I’ll be eating these tamales instead of the turkey and big thanksgiving traditional feast the family makes . I’ll even hide the tamales to make them last because once people see some Pepe’s tamales , they all grab , And they don’t just grab one , They grab like 3 at a time . I would highly recommend this place ! Also Jorge who is the beautiful smile you see when you first walk in was literally the nicest most welcoming guy ! He made us feel so special because of the great hospitality he gave us . You definitely don’t get people who are this sweet and happy in life in Dallas . So it’s always great and heart warming to come across people like Jorge ! Pepe’s tamales will definitely be my go to forever in my heart place for literally the rest of my life . No other place...
Read moreTERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! My mother & father took a trip across town to go to Pepe’s tamales to buy tamales and menudo. When arriving at the location my parents were attended by a young teen girl. Due to COVID the girl at the counter shouted at my father that only one person could be inside. My father waited by the door outside the establishment while my mother ordered. The attendant then shouted again for my father to close the door. From the looks of it, the attendant was discriminating my father due to his skin tone. My father asked the attendant if there was an issue and she walked to the back. A man then came along with the attendant and told my parents they could not sell anything and that they would call the police. The issue clearly was a discrimination due to my father’s skin tone. How ironic that they sell Mexican food yet they discriminate Hispanics. My family left to avoid causing a scene. I would not recommend this place, specially if you are from a...
Read moreMy first visit to Pepe's Tamales was a modest experience. The restaurant is quite small, with limited seating—and it appears primarily geared towards takeout, as there are no dining-in options or restrooms available. The menu offers just a few choices: cheese and chicken tamales, with no mention of beef or other varieties.
Prices are reasonable, with a dozen tamales costing under $20, which is fair for the portion size. Beverage options are limited to Coke products, but unfortunately, Diet Coke is not available and all are bottled.
The tamales themselves were okay—considering the limited menu, they met expectations but didn't stand out as exceptional. Overall, Pepe's Tamales seems suited for a quick, budget-friendly snack rather than a...
