This place is the best! 💯💯💯✊🏻 Great efficient service, homey vibe, cheap. More importantly, awesome food. H U G E burritos in homemade tortillas. Here is my breakdown of everything I've tried: ⚜️The tortillas: the best part of the burrito, OMG 10/10. They are soft and pillowy, as fresh as it gets, perfect texture and amount of chew with sexy char marks giving them lots of flavor. They're a little fluffy, so they soak up the saucy fillings well. I could eat them plain. Cannot say enough about them.

⚜️ The beans: idk what they do but these are the best beans I have ever tasted. I'll just get the bean & cheese burrito sometimes.

⚜️ meats: I've tried the carne asade (a lil tough but the extra fillings are on point), the chile colorado (very good, a little salty), the deshebrada (my fav deshebrada anywhere!), the chile verde (dry) and probably more that I am forgetting. The chile relleno burrito is king of them all - amazing!

⚜️salsa: very soupy, soaks nicely into the tortillas. I like it a lot but I don't think most people would consider it special.

⚜️ aguas frescas: Just okay.

One burrito is enough for 2 average eaters. You can split 2 fillings to one burrito. ...

Place is cramped.

The one taking order is really pretty but can't fully understand English. Got confused, probably, with the loud guitar in the background & people were piling up, it was near lunch when we arrived.

Arrived with blaring guitar sound, typical Mexican music, the old guitarist was spoken to by an old man who's a buzzer, probably told him that customers are trying to eat without shouting at each other because his guitar was occupying air space.

Wrong food came which I think has upset the waitress 😣 when my husband had it changed to what I really ordered. When she was serving the couple from the table behind my husband she looked at me as if saying, "can't you just eat what was given to you?" Sheez 😏

That waitress had side comments when she was taking orders from tables behind me 😏 I know it's not fun to serve hoards of hungry people, but it's also not right to have an attitude towards somebody who's eating there for the 1st (and last) time.

My order was finally brought the one I really ordered, the chicken was bland. No bell peppers nor onions. It is Chicken Fajita!!!! 😏 With all this experience, I am thankful to...

I love Mexican food, and so while I am in El Paso for a week, I am trying to find great local places to eat. Help led me to Rafa’s. It is one of those places that most people from out of town wouldn’t probably pull into if they happened to be driving by. It's in a strip mall and definitely has a neighborhood vibe to it. It was very busy and I was the only white guy in there when I went, so I knew the food was going to be good. I ordered the roasted pork (asado de puerco) grande size. It was huge! I turned it in to two meals. It's not a Tex-Mex or California style burrito but old school Mexico style. No lettuce. No sour cream. No tomatoes. Mine had just meat and beans. This is not something you can get away with eating in the car unless you don't mind wearing your food. It’s juicy. It’s packed full of meat and beans. The tortilla is homemade and fresh. It drips and comes apart. Its delicious. The meat has kind of a smokey, spicy flavor but not overbearing. Even though my Spanish is rusty the staff was very friendly and helpful and they do speak English so no worries there....

Uodate: Came back, with extra time to spare. Its 9:12 am but showed they're closed with 7 to 4 hours of operation posted. I called,, no answer.. I called the number online,, someone answered and said they should be open. Good burritos, but if you're on your way to work in the morning, this is not the ideal place to stop. Twice now, I stopped and it took 20 minutes or more for me to get my food and leave. The first time I just drove off before I ordered. Today, there was 2 vehicles in front of me, one of which was already at the window when I drove up along with another truck ahead of me. When I finally got to order and pay, they asked me to move up a bit. It took them 15 minutes to bring out my burrito that I had already paid for so I couldn't just leave. I ended up getting to work a few minutes late because of it. So if you want their food, leave yourself an extra 20 minutes MINIMUM on your way to work.

The burritos were Grande and chico, the tortillas had a decent taste but will not be going back at all cause I'm not a fake fan of the beans. They're chorizo beans and not good ones at that cause the chorizo taste was a fake weird tasting one and ruined my bean an cheese taco as well as my other breakfast taco that had beans in it. Never once asked for them and that's what they have on the menu. Then I asked for a caldo that took as long as the whole meal took an then still gave it to me wrong. The burritos were grease soaked and runny. Not a good spot to go to with a crowd either.

We were driving cross country and got detoured further South by an ice storm. What great fortune we found Rafa's Burritos. Now I see they have several locations. The El Paso Rafa served us a carne asada burrito the size of my forearm. We had to split it to conquer it. No beans, no rice, just juicy carne asada with a real deal wrap. Not dripping, just juicy. Guacamole and chips are magic. This is a destination fod experience with authentic atmosphere. Don't expect gleaming fast food store front. If our travels take us near a Rafa's Burrito we're going!!
