Coming from California where we have In-N-Out Burger and Five Guys, I wanted to try Whataburger since it is a very popular burger chain in and around Texas.
Was in El Paso briefly and had the chance to have the Double Meat Whataburger, the Bacon & Cheese Whataburger (with added avocado), the Whataburger Patty Melt, the Jalapeno Cheddar Buscuit Sandwich, french fries (with Spicy Ketchup), a 32 oz shake (Neopolitan-style with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry), and a 20 oz salted caramel shake.
Try to eat the main menu items when they are fresh and warm as that's when their flavors come out the best. The patties are of a good size which make the entire burger look and feel significant and worth the money. Also, I do like the Whataburger french fries more than those from In-N-Out and Five Guys.
The Spicy Ketchup was interesting in that it does have a kick to it, but it does require that you continue to eat it with your entire serving of fries. If you sample the ketchup with a one-and-done dip, you won't get the full effect.
The salted caramel shake was also good, but a bit on the very-sweet side.
Finally, for a fast food place, the service is excellent. The burgers are wrapped very neatly. When you eat in, your order is brought to you. You are also brought an organized tray where you can pick from condiments, napkins, straws, etc.. If you order through their drive-thru and are asked to pull your car aside to wait, they bring out your food AND ask if there is anything else they can do for you. Nice!
All in all, it was very good. So if you like higher quality fast food burgers and have a chance to try Whataburger,...
Read moreI had a group of 11 visitors from Chicago have their first Whataburger experience at this location, and it was absolutely outstanding! I'm giving a solid 5 stars, not just for the delicious food, which was perfectly prepared, but primarily because of the exceptional service provided by the manager, Antonio Garcia. Handling a large group can be challenging, but Antonio did it with grace and efficiency. He personally took our orders, ensured everything was accurate, delivered the meals to each of us, and consistently checked in to guarantee we had everything we needed and were enjoying our food. His attention to detail and genuine, friendly demeanor truly made the entire experience memorable for everyone in our group.
Antonio Garcia went above and beyond, and his dedication to customer satisfaction is truly commendable. He transformed what could have been a simple meal into an exceptional dining experience, making my guests' first Whataburger visit one they won't soon forget. Highly recommend! I love Whataburger and glad they had an...
Read moresadly, something has changed in this location in the recent past. The staff is no longer as helpful as they were a few years ago. I have used this location for over twelve years, and i am to the point i will have to drive some miles extra since this location is failing. They consistently overcharge, or get the order incorrect. The store still seems to be somewhat clean, but if the attitudes do not improve, how can i feel confident they are passing the grade on that as well? Tonight's meal was both overcharged, poorly made, and with some of the skimpiest portions i have ever seen. I know sometimes food establishments have to take what the truck drops off, but is management so concerned about the numbers he's (she's?) running that quality and attention to detail no longer matter? Broken- Hearted Long...
