My latest visits to the Dunkin Donuts on 11 South Broad Street have left me with mixed emotions. The recently undertaken renovations have undeniably transformed the place, breathing new life into the once cramped space. The expanded floor space now offers an airy and minimalist layout, which I find quite appealing. This structural change has effectively reduced the crowd clumping, especially during the peak hours. An odd addition though is the Bitcoin ATM, which, while seeming slightly out of place, isn't particularly a bother.
However, this aesthetic uplift seems to have overshadowed the essence of what once made this place a favorite - customer service. It appears that the service efficiency has significantly dwindled post-renovation. The crux of this issue seems to stem from the current floor manager, whose dismissive and brash attitude not only affects customers but seems to have a cascading effect on the staff's morale and overall performance.
A recent encounter left a bitter taste when I was hurriedly dismissed post a tap-to-pay transaction. Before I could even collect my receipt, the manager had already shifted her attention to the next customer in line, an action that can only be described as incredibly rude.
The efficiency has notably dipped, with a visibly lackluster approach to attending to customers on the lobby floor. Long waits have become a norm, with customers sometimes having to stand idle for upward of 5 minutes - a duration that feels significantly long when you have places to be and schedules to adhere to, particularly during the bustling start of the school year.
A glaring bottleneck that exacerbates this issue is the baffling decision to operate with a single register. This, combined with the absence of a dedicated staff at the register to swiftly address customer needs, creates an unnecessary backlog, significantly increasing wait times. This decision is nothing short of a misstep, and a revision to include a second register seems not just necessary but urgent to handle customer influx efficiently.
Over the years, my experiences here have fluctuated, but the recent downturn in customer service is unprecedented and truly disappointing. A place that was once a favored stop has now turned into a convenience-based choice, with the long waits often deterring me to the point where I find solace and a quicker cup of coffee at other stops on my way to work.
In conclusion, while the physical renovations are commendable, the establishment desperately needs to revisit and perhaps overhaul its approach to customer service, nurturing a friendly and efficient environment that once graced this...
Read moreI literally just left this place and they are terrible. They ask you anything else over and over before you could even finish your sentence. I advised the girl I wanted tea with milk and sugar and that last time the tea wasn’t sweet so please make it sweet. Even said 3 sugars. What does she do? Add 3 milk on the screen and still hands me unsweetened tea even after I advised her again at the window. Then the donuts!!!! Omg they are so stale! They literally have hard bottoms like she heated them up in a microwave. Disgusting and the only reason they are still open is because they are conveniently next to a hospital. I wouldn’t recommend this Dunkin’ slash gas station food to anyone. If you don’t believe me try it out for yourself and see if anything I stated happens. Mind you I’m writing this at 8am in my jobs parking lot at work just trying to begin the day properly. Heck of a way to start the...
Read moreThis location needs to be retrain with customers services, food safety training. The lady who took my order was working on the register , touching money, cards and also making my breakfast sandwich. When I asked her if she changed her glove her reply was “don’t worry about it” immediately asked for a refund as I kept watching her finish preparing my sandwich and taking drive through orders. She then replied with you want a donut? Of course I said no, she after said well I can’t give you a refund. I asked why and she said “I already did two other refunds, and can’t do another one”. Particularly refusing to give me a refund. As she saw that I wasn’t leaving she went back to the registry took money out and gave it to me. It’s upsetting as this Dunkin is right across from my work place and due to this very disturbing encounter I have to drive further...
