Friendly's — Restaurant in Enfield

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but the service I received at this restaurant was truly disgusting. I am from Massachusetts but was down in the area and decided to go to Friendly’s for lunch after an appointment with one of my family members. The place was dead. Usually, I get a kids meal from the kids menu. The Friendly’s I go to locally has never given me any issues with this request. As I struggle to eat large portions of food due to a health issue, the kids meal is a perfect size for me. Upon getting seated I requested a kids menu from the server, whose name was Caitlyn, and was given one with no issues. After ordering and finishing my meal she asked us if we wanted desert. I asked her if an ice cream comes with the kids meals here because I was unsure if they offer the same kids meal as they do at my local Friendly’s in Mass. She rolled her eyes and said, “technically they do, but don’t expect one. You are not under 12 so you should not be expecting an ice cream with your meal. No other server would have given you a kids menu.” I immediately felt extremely uncomfortable and humiliated. If she truly did not want me ordering a kids meal, she should not have given me a kids menu when I asked. If she would have refused the menu up front, I would have no problems. It was the fact that she gave me the kids menu to order off of, took my order, and then refused me the ice cream it came with that I was PAYING FOR. I felt so uncomfortable by her behavior that I wanted to leave immediately. I did not even try to argue with her but rather just asked for the bill and left. I ended up paying the full price of the kids meal without even getting the sundae that comes with it. A complete rip off. As I currently work in customer service, I was appalled by her behavior. I would NEVER treat a customer the way she did. A truly uncaring, cold, and apathetic human being. I also hate not leaving a tip but her service did not warrant one. If she was not going to honor the whole meal, she should have not given me the menu to begin with. That was the first and last time I will EVER be going to that Friendly’s again. Will not be going back!! I’m aware friendlys isn’t the fanciest restaurant but they are a restaurant and should have decent service. We waited over 15 min for someone to even come to our table for drinks. Then once ordered the waitress was standing around doing nothing another 20 to 30 minutes later we still did not have our drinks once our food arrived my daughters food was not what she ordered my moms CHEESEBURGER Had nothing on it and my dish did not come with my side when the waitress returned we told her all of these things and she informed us that the cheeseburger did not in fact come with cheese my wrap did not come with a side and my daughters food is what she ordered I showed her the picture again and asked for a menu to make sure that I was correct before speaking with her further once I found out I was correct she said OK I’m sorry and returned with two of the things that were missing but not the rest of it she walked away from us while we were talking to her and at the end we looked at the receipt and she did in fact ring everything in correctly but did not bring us the food we had actually ordered. The burger had nothing on it and my dish did not come with my side my daughters food was a COMPLETELY different meal when the manager arrived we spoke with her and she said that she wasn’t aware of what was on the menu I said how do you work and manage a restaurant that you don’t know the menu of she said if you say so ma’am that is in the menu I said why don’t you grab a menu and look for yourself I said it’s very rude to argue with somebody over what they ordered and walk away in the middle of somebody talking she crinkled up the receipt in front of my face and said she brought us the food that we had actually ordered. Charging luxury prices with a dining room like a gas station bathroom. Cost over $60 for 2 people with 1 app and no ice cream and 1 drink. Walls and chairs were very dirty. The food itself was very good excluding the sad fries and extremely downsized portions from back in the day. However, we went to Target right after which is basically in the same parking lot and within 20 minutes of leaving the restaurant both of us started feeling sick at almost the exact same time. I am assuming it was from the ice/water or fries since that is the only thing we both ate. We also saw the floor of the kitchen when we were paying and it was disgusting so I can only imagine how clean the ice maker or tap is. People always say "ew you eat at mcdonalds? they are nasty" well I never seen a mcdonalds look this dirty. Made me wonder where the inspector is honestly. Staff I will not comment on as I give them a pass for how hot it was. However, the nastiness was not a one day old level of nastiness.
