I was not impressed at all and left feeling so disappointed. The food was over priced and very bland. I went with my family of six, and not a single one of us were all that impressed. My father order the hotdog and could hardly eat it because it was swimming in mustard, my brother ordered the falafels and they were mushy in the middle and flavorless. The rest of our food orders were okay, but nothing to sing home about. Just basic, bland food.
I was also disappointed in the little store area. There wasn't anything worthwhile in the shop that I couldn't get cheaper at the grocery store down the road. I hoped they would have some fresh mushrooms or locally made cheeses or something that would be unique from what you could get at a normal grocery store, but there wasn't anything like that. Just a few small plants, drinks, and t-shirts. I think perhaps I may have gone on an off day because there seems to be produce and more products in other pictures people posted, but there seriously was nothing the day we went.
I was also wanting to see the grow area or have more of an inclusive experience with the actual garden (that's kind of the point of a farm to table experience), but alas there is only one small area inside the dimly lit dinning area where you can see one small area of the hydroponic garden behind a glass window. I see other reviews where people were at least allowed to sit on the roof top near the greenhouse but that was closed when we were there.
I guess I had a totally different picture of this place in my brain prior to coming, which led to my disappointment. I thought it would be a cool grow area that you could actually see with all the various herbs and vegetables that were in your meal. I thought the store area would be more like a small farmers market-like store. And I expected a food experience that was full of fresh and unique flavors from the garden (seriously, there was NO flavor...it was all so very basic and bland).
On a side note, we sat at a table that sits six people and the legs of the table have these thick iron legs on rollers. My 86 year old grandmother was seated in front of one of the legs and cut her foot on the iron leg. When we told the staff they just said 'oh, we'll tell the manager next time he's in'. Gee, thanks. That's really helpful. Meanwhile my grandmother is walking out of the restaurant bleeding from her foot and you didn't offer any help to her or even ask if she's okay.
Overall, it was just such a disappointing experience and not worth the money at all. We drove 45 minutes to try this place. I picked this place because I wanted to take my brother (who has a master's degree in botany and studies plants) here to have an interesting farm to table experience. Oh well. We'll just stick with our own farm to table at home...and it will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreokay i normally donāt complain but just spent $12.97 on two coffees and this was the absolute worst coffee iāve ever had. i donāt know if the barista is just super inexperienced or what but literally had to just throw the coffees away. 13 bucks down the drainš do NOT come here!!!
Edit and Response: First of all, iāve been to over hundreds of businesses and iāve only left bad reviews for 8 of them. Basic level marketing knowledge says people are more likely to leave reviews when they have a bad experience. Second of all, we didnāt even order hot drinks we ordered two iced drinksš¤£ā¦ LIE #1. our drinks had whole milk not oat milkā¦. LIE #2. we didnāt ācome around the corner to chit chatā either thatās LIE #3. Second of all, we got coffees to go and we were down the road when we tried them. third of all, the last time we were there we were overcharged by $12 and they gave us a gift card instead of a refund. we do NOT want a gift card to a restaurant that we will never be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo much potential if they had an operator who knows what they are doing. They must have a lot of money to burn here because they make it extremely difficult to order from and enjoy.
Some observations:
they arenāt open on Sundays. One of the only weekend days and a great day for brunch. Why? the food is pretty overpriced. the breakfast items (which you must be confined to until 11am) are 3 things. One is just eggs (2) on top of a giant bowl of potatoes - at $14. The breakfast burrito is nothing but potatoes. the cocktails are expensive - and weak. Maybe an ounce of spirit in there? I had three to catch a buzz. Switched to wine. they arenāt open early (6-6:30) for coffee service in their coffee bar area, so thereās no point in stopping on your way to work. speaking of coffee,...
