We walked in mid day on Friday around 2pm and the door was locked. As I looked inside there was a fully functioning restaurant. A guest who say across the room saw that I was unable to open the door and she walked across the room to open the door. She said it was weird but that the door sometimes does this. We then sat on a clean table. And looked at the menu. We ordered the super seasfood tostada, a fish taco, a shrimp taco, a modelo and a bottled coke. We received our food which looked promising. Big tacos. A giant pile of seafood over a corn tostada. After a few bites we were begining to noticed a few things we were fully satisfied with. We placed our order and after receiving our food we remembered we never got our drinks. We began to eat and it still look another 7 minutes to reach over for a couple bottled drinka from the fridge. The veggies were poorly chopped. The clams/mussel we're not detached from the shell. We used the mussel shell to do it. There are various options of salsas and the Chipotle mayo/cream was my favorite for my shrimp and fish taco. I will say the tacos are big. But the tortilla are thick yellow corn and my personal preference is thinner corn tortillas. Overall I recommend the food truck in San Marcos instead of this location. My husband's family are Cevicheros/cocteleros from Ensenada, Baja California and we have had amazing seafood all our lives. Sadly, Mariscos Germán just fell short of what we had anticipated and heard...
Read moreUpdate, not sure if they got new owners or just new staff but the new staff is awesome! The ladies are super nice, on it and accommodating. The food is amazing as always. I wish there was one closer to where I live, in the mean time I always recommend this place and will continue to make the the drive. My favorites menu items are the tacos gobernador, shrimp ceviche tostada, and you can never go wrong with their classic fish tacos. My mom doesn't like seafood, but she loves their fish tacos. My brother also loves this place. My friend who has been to menu parts of mexico said this is still her favorite Mexican seafood spot.
I love coming here, but, they lost a star from me tonight, because they closed earlier than the posted hours. We showed up at 7:55pm on a Tuesday night, our friend was waiting for us inside with her food eating, they had already locked the door and told us they closed early and tried to rush her out so they can start cleaning. They should really consider changing their hours, or put a sign up. I was embarrassed for another friend I had brought to try the amazing food they offer. Not a good first impression. Also, we drove 35 minutes out of our way to make this finally happen. I also wish the cashiers were consistent. The older lady is the best. The younger girl is always on her phone and seems unhappy to be there and the younger guy should really...
Read moreWe went for the first time on Friday and place was nit to busy. We were served some kind of Caldo with a full shrimp in it, it was a bit salty wish it would of been less. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and let me say YUMM!! It was made like we make it at home. Lots of shrimp, lots of veggies and lots of avocado, I also got the fish taco and it was good. My husband got the pescado a la Diabla. If we would of known it was pan fried fish topped with onion im sure he would of gotten something else. But the flavor was on point. We my father got the caldo de 7 mares and it was surprisingly good as well. Had lots of different type of sea food in it. The best one of all was the shrimp quesadilla with cheese only. Now tat is to die for. It was cooked perfectly the taste was amazing. All around a great place to eat some mariscos. They just need to lay a little...
