After yesterday around 6pm. Im never going back. I have eaten here a number of times and like it so much that I like showing people this place all the time. Last night I brought a new friend to try it. Long story short (I’ll put detail about the lady at the bottom) but the worker last night has such a bad attitude, my friend didn’t want to eat the food in fear that she probably messed with it. I decided to eat it and at 2am I woke up with diarrhea that lasted hours. It’s about 12 hours later and my stomach still hurts and I feel like I’m going to puke constantly. All I’ve eaten is an apple and water today, but my stomach hurts so much I don’t want to eat anything till tomorrow. I’ve never had this reaction eating here.
Online said it wasn’t going to be closed for another hour and they had the sign on. I waited a while to talk but it’s fine because it’s a popular spot so anticipated they are busy. My friend and I hung out till someone came to the order window, no big deal. The lady was absolutely rude and was acting very angry while asking what we wanted. When I asked for a certain chicken (I think it was the butter chicken?) she literally rolled her eyes and started telling me what other options are available but in a tone like I was stupid. I didn’t say anything. I just said thank you at the end. When my friend and I sat down, he immediately pointed out that she was being very snappy at us. When it was time to get the food, she didn’t say anything to him. He said he waited a few seconds for a response and felt confused cause she grabbed it then ignored him without saying anything. then he thought maybe the boxes in the window was ours and when he went for it she just barked out “No,no,no!” Then handed him our food.
I really wish I would have taken the red flag that lady was giving and saved my stomach. I understand that people go through hard times and even if someone’s at work it can be hard to keep up a face, but she clearly didn’t care how she was acting towards us and I really hope that my stomach doesn’t get worse and heals up quick. Never...
Read moreHorrible customer service! They dropped food off at our table when we weren't present and when we came back to our table the food was sitting there. The order was half wrong, but because they were busy we didn't want to complain and just decided to eat what was brought out. 30 min later a male food truck employee came to our table accusing us of intentionally accepting the wrong order and blaming us for the mistake. We let him know we were trying to be polite by eating it and would have rather had our original order, but he continued to argue with us and blame us for the mistake. Our assumption after he left was that he wanted us to return the food so that he could serve the food to another table, which is against so many food handling rules and is incredibly gross and unsanitary. He doesn't know what we could have done to the food after her dropped it off at our table, but he was willing to take it to another table 30 minutes later. The food was good, but that interaction makes me wonder what other food handling rules they are violating and calls into question how sanitary their operation is. We won't be back.
Edit after response: There isn't even an ounce of truth in your response. We were incredibly respectful until you came to our table with a hostile attitude and continued to stay at our table bickering after we explained the situation and thought we were doing you a favor. You definitely did not come to our table to make sure everything was ok. I quote "You didn't do us any favors, that food was for someone else!" By saying that you absolutely implied you were going to serve it to another table because you were mad we didn't bring it back. I guess add dishonesty to the list of issues with your food cart. Instead of pretending everyone else is in the wrong instead of yourself, maybe take the feedback from guests and improve on it. An apology for messing up our order and the way we were treated would have gone much further than lying on...
Read moreI was really looking forward to the fusion of Indian and Latin American flavors. Unfortunately, not much of either was on display. Only the lingering vinegar of the Cholula. Ordered two items, the Green Goddess Fries and the Bhel Puri. Had I been notified they'd ran out of one of them... I would have passed on delivery altogether. Still, I held out hope that the vegan fries would be worth the wait. But when I opened the box, I encountered a notably uneven distribution of undercooked cauliflower, a smattering of mushy peas (not ragging on mushy peas), and vegan cheese that still hadn't melted. The fries were fairly dry as the mixture didn't seem to have cooked enough to adhere to them. As the vegan selection is limited and the prices are on the high side... I can't see myself giving Arekie another shot unless I was dining with...
