First time here and will be coming back!
So I thought my wife had ordered me the black garlic fries from their menu in my chicken strip basket. When I went to grab the order I said the name and what we had ordered, which is just what I normally do so we are all on the same page of what we ordered.
When I asked him about the black garlic fries he closed his eyes and said “shoot, I forgot about the black garlic fries”. He offered to make them and throw in the regular fries he had already made.
This is where customer service went from great to outstanding; he called me back to the window and showed me the receipt indicating the black garlic fries were never ordered. Well now I feel stupid. He gave me the already completed order sans black garlic fries, I apologized and was on my merry way back to my car. Suddenly I heard him calling me back to the window. He told me he was gonna throw in the black garlic fries for me because they were almost done and what else was he gonna do with them?
A business that surpasses an honest mistake from a customer and turns it into a positive outcome is a business I will ALWAYS support. Yes it was my mistake. But he turned it into an opportunity for me to get the food I wanted to try (because unless you’re a vampire; who doesn’t love GARLIC??) and also not waste food.
On to the food itself: The waffles in the chicken and waffles was on point as were the chicken strips I ordered. The chicken was crispy and flavorful with a unique taste. I usually try to identify flavors to enhance the enjoyment of my food and I believe it was a mixture of pickle juice brine, some type of curry/achiote mix with a dash of cumin.
The Marionberry shrubonade wasn’t overly sweet, nor overly sour. It was a nice refreshing sour taste with a hint of sweetness that was drank in one go (sorry I only left you a small sip of it wifey).
Finally, the black garlic fries: had I just received the regular fries, I would have been content. They weren’t limp homemade fries some places have nor were they excessively salty or greasy. They really were decently sliced and fried potato. The added flavor of the garlic turned regular fries into super fries. It wasn’t an overpowering spicy garlic flavor well known at most restaurants nor was it underpowered to the taste of the spud.
Customer service aside? The food was ridiculously good.
Customer service included? This business offers a buy a meal/take a meal option to feed those who perhaps might not be able to feed themselves. 10/10 wife was happy and I was happy....
Read moreThe first time I came here for lunch I loved it so much I couldn’t wait to bring my friends back here.
The vegan sandwiches are AMAZING! The regular sandwiches look amazing and got great reviews by my friends. I will say (like the other reviews) the fries have a curry taste to them but I really love it and think it’s very unique. Just so you know though.
The atmosphere is a solid 10/10 especially given what it was before. Someone took this little crossing and put a lot of love into it!
Staff were super friendly and cared a lot about how we enjoyed the meals (every time I have gone they have been consistent.)
Price… Here is the thing- Yes. It is ‘pricey’ for a meal like the other reviews say HOWEVER they all fail to mention that this place does NOT accept tips. Any gratitude is directed to the donation boxes. Most places you go out to eat you are still playing $18 for a meal including tip (which most of you know whether or not you got good service somewhere you still feel pressured to tip.) I would assume meals are on the more expensive side because: Organic Local sourced
Anyways, for $18-20 it’s definitely worth at least a try. Try something new and fun....
Read moreThis place is a GEM, and these chefs are nothing short of artists! From the food to the friendliness, these guys have it down!!! A truly exceptional pallet of flavors that are incredibly unique yet create a perfect balance to make a homie comfort-food experience in your mouth and heart 💜 And this is not to mention the message behind it all that acknowledges the battle our society is facing with climate change and the extensive wild fire seasons of late. When we asked about the black coating on the chicken, our chef brought out the beautifully charred spice mix that includes vegetable scraps grilled to perfection…representing the message of reduce-reuse-recycle, and also remembering where we are coming from and what our future may become without honoring our limited resources.
Thank you for the loveliest of meals and the warmest of evenings, we can’t wait to...
