i came there at 12am 3/30 on sat night and i was surprised to see people acting very weird. I was told to go pickup the order in the lobby but from the outside the lobby appeared closed as there was all the chairs on the table and and people mopping up near the entrance so its apparent they were closed or closing. I tried to ask if they were open and if i was cool to pickup in lobby and got no response from the two cashiers. Suddenly one of the cashiers crashing out smashing stuff on the floor being louder than a mug and I ask if everything is cool because they seemed highly distressed. They just looked at me and the other cashier told me "idk what's going on" yet had no reaction to this behavior. Its telling of the average night with that crew specifically. On top of that this person was unresponsive but fully involved in the process of my pickup they wouldn't respond to a single question i had like "is that all for me? Im good to grab this one right?" it was really weird. Management needs to do better with where the workers are. There was this nice guy who was mopping who was cool enough to answer my questions even though he was obviously busy. Had to write a review shouting him out but also requesting something be done because what even was that lol. Food was alright but service was definitely worth writing about. This is not really a highlighting of the employees but the management of said employees. Like wheres shift lead at? Bad experiences between myself and my roommates include: being served a burger with a raw patty raw/soggy fries (multiple occasions) drinks/items being forgotten etc.
i have demoted this review to 1 star from 2 because this location has now opted out of the $7 meal deal offer and is charging $9 for it. As someone with business administration experience, this move makes no sense to me as the food here is an inferior product to its competition yet this new 9$ price means its now priced at a similar/higher level to competition in the area.
UPDATE: I checked the prices at other locations and this location seems to be price gouging the hell out of its food menu items. Ice cream etc. is on par with other dairy queen locations however all of the food items here are 2-3$ more expensive than at dairy queen locations that are 2 miles down the road. A burger at this location is 8.75, meanwhile the DQ on Coburg road is only 6.75 for the burger (both of which are more expensive than a big mac out here btw). It just doesn't make sense to buy from here considering there's better food within 500ft for the same price. And even then if you wanted a low quality fast food burger, a big mac at the McDonalds within .25 miles down the same road is only $5.50. This location is only staying in business currently because its ice cream prices are on par with your average dairy...
   Read moreThis was my first time going to a dairy queen and I had heard good things in California since that's where I'm from but the service here was horrible. My sister and I went and I have never been there so there were these things called cheese balls or something like that and I asked the worker what they were and she said "I don't know! I'm new" and in my head I'm thinking I'm like okay, that's not an excuse, you can ask one of your other Co workers. So I didn't order them. Then my sister ordered after me. Meanwhile we were waiting for the food, I went to the restroom and they gave my sister her food 1st and she texted me, "I think they gave your food to somebody else" and she had already told I think the manager or the girl that was working there and it was an asian girl with dark hair and she didn't believe my sister, she waited for me to come out and tell her that they had given my food to somebody else and so when I came out, I told her and instead of apologizing or anything she just gave me attitude and remade my order. Then when it finally came out, she didn't even give me a bag with my food or say sorry or anything. She was just rude and so unprofessional .
