Our experience at Sweet Waters was horrendous! We made dinner reservations for 4 people for 4:45. We arrived on time. The dining room was empty and there were no diners at the outside tables. We requested an inside table by the windows, if possible. We were told that we had been assigned a table. The table assigned to us was outside and in full, blinding sun. We asked to sit at a more shaded outside table and were told that we were not allowed to sit at any other table than the one assigned to us. We may have been more understanding had the restaurant been full of diners…but we were the only diners except some folks at the bar. At least 30 tables were empty. When we asked why we had to sit at the sunny, outside table, we were told because the other tables were assigned to other people. The staff member was not allowed to seat us anywhere else and the other tables were for people with reservations. What? I explained that we had reservations. The other tables were empty. We were told that we could leave if we didn’t like the table. I asked to speak to the manager. The staff member returned and told us that an inside table was miraculously available due to a cancellation. We decided to stay. We were then told that we would need to vacate the table no later than 6:15! What? I ordered a cocktail. It was not properly prepared. The server informed the bartender who graciously came to our table. I was told that only recipes provided to hi could be used to prepare the drinks. Bartenders were not allowed to do anything but follow the recipe. What? We ordered and one of our party ordered the clams. It was totally inedible! The broth and clams were unbearably salty. She sent it back. The server said that she and the chef tasted it and agreed it was inedible. A second dish of clams was delivered. It was equally inedible because of the saltiness. What? Once again, the server and chef agreed. My friend cancelled the order. The other diners at the table were almost done with their dinners. Never once, did we see a manager! The server “generously” did not charge for the clams. It was about 5:45 by now. Only two new diners arrived during the hour we were there. The inside and outside tables were still basically empty. What? We paid and left Sweet Waters. We were very unhappy, angry and incredulous diners. Our experience was unbelievable. There is something very wrong with...

We had a 10am reservation that took 10 mins to seat us. After we were seated by the window it took another 10mins before someone asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered 2 bloody marys, 2 orange juices, & a kids cup. We waited at least 15 mins before we recieved those drinks... along with two cups of coffee (that we never ordered)
Now let me explain what happened during the 15 minutes that we waited for our drinks. A party of 11 sat next to us got seated and recieved all their drinks before we received ours. When our waitress (Sierra) came to take our breakfast order, we kindly asked where our drinks were at since the party of 11 next to us received theirs. Her reply (in a very condescending tone) "he is currently making your drinks. We are obviously busy. What can I order for you?" My mother politely tried to explain why we were asking, and Sierra continued to shut her down by asking what she wanted to order in a condescending tone and being sarcastic. After there was a very awkward 30 second silence that our waitress Sierra created, we finally ordered our food. I was last to order. When I ordered my breakfast, I kindly ask if she could remove her condescending tone from her mouth. She tried to explain to me that she didn't but I wasn't trying to hear it.
It took 20+ minutes to receive our food.... the party next to us already received theirs 10 mins before ours...
I work in customer service everyday and I eat out alot. But this customer service here has made it my last visit to this poor establishment.
And on top of it the food was mediocre to say the least. I would not recommend stopping here and spending your money. As long as this restaurant keeps accepting their employees to treat their customers like that, then this restaurant will always be a...
Read moreMy sister and I grew up in Eugene and this was a fancy place for dinner. We grew up, Sweet Waters got a little tired, and neither of us had been there for years. When we heard it had gotten a jump start, we headed over after the Saturday matinee of Hamilton and brought her bonus daughter and my good friend. It was, by all accounts, an excellent move. We were a little early for our reservation but the sweet hostess got us to our table by the window with no fuss. It was our very good fortune to be seated in Izzy’s section- he took wonderfully good care of us from our first drinks to our last bites of dessert. Pacing was impeccable and Izzy was both patient and generous. We started with the salmon corn dogs, which were brilliant, even without the two sauces on the side. For our mains, our teen got the steak frites- perfectly cooked and well-sized; my sister had the kale salad with flat iron; my friend had the chopped salad; and I had the pork belly appetizer. We also got a couple of orders of brussels sprouts because why wouldn’t you? We ordered drinks from the by-the-glass list, which had some really nice options for both local and international wines. All of our food was lovely— in combination with the setting overlooking the river and absolute first rate service, we felt fancy indeed. Before our check arrived, we shared a piece of flourless chocolate cake that topped off an already top notch night. 12/10 would...
