I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was beyond disappointing. I placed a to-go order and arrived about 10 minutes late, only to be handed a cold tea. When I brought it up, I was told it was made fresh and got cold because I was late. Whatâs the point of offering it at all if itâs undrinkable by the time it reaches me? I asked for sugar and a stirrer; got one sugar packet and was told stirrers were âout of stock.â Really?
It didnât end there. I was traveling and politely asked for a couple of paper plates; again, âout of stock.â Then I asked for utensils, only to have him hand-pick a couple of spoons using the same hands he had just been cleaning with. No napkins, nothing. Just careless, unhygienic, and frankly, a joke.
It wasnât just the lack of basic items, it was the dismissive attitude that made it worse. No apology, no solution, just excuses.
Now the food. The biryani was a complete disaster: overly spicy, barely edible, and honestly one of the worst Iâve ever had. Avoid it at all costs. Of the three items I ordered, I ended up tossing two; yes, including the tea and the biryani.
Customer service matters, and so does basic hygiene and respect. With this kind of quality and attitude, I am never coming back. I strongly suggest others look elsewhere if you value your time, money, health, and even a shred...
Read moreExcellent food. Exceptionally nice staff, very clean restaurant. Our new favorite in Eugene. Our family of 8 just had a dinner there and we were all so happy with our food. The staff is very nice but they were having to work hard to serve the restaurant which filled up fast. The samosas are great, robustly spiced and freshly made. All the tikka masala dishes were great, as were all the paneer dishes. The true vegetarian was in heaven, and the meat-eaters were all satisfied too. We got regular, butter and garlic styles of the naan which was all delicious, and we all stole a few fries from the toddler which were perfect as well. We did our dinner at 5pm which made it easy for them to accommodate our larger party. Be patient and kind and youâll get treated to a fabulous dining experience - everyone seemed to pitch in on serving and checking on the patrons. I was a bit disappointed they didnât have Taj Majal beer for a full Indian experience, but the mango lasse was a yummy treat. Be aware that even âmildâ has a kick to it so donât go âhotâ with every dish. We ordered a lot of dishes to share and had leftovers to take home so our bill was $234 which seemed fair to us, not cheap. Weâll definitely go back so we can try out even...
Read moreWent to dinner on a Saturday night with my family and had a disappointing experience. The food was decent, although the menu is deceiving. We ordered lamb shish kebab, and it was a lamb sausage. This is not at all close to what a traditional lamb dish should be, and it was like eating a a basic sausage. The worst part of the experience was the service. The staff is very inattentive. After the entrees were dropped off, we never saw the waiter again. No one came to check on us or see how the meal was. Dirty dishes sat there until an hour later when we finally got up. We had to ask for water and even had to go searching on our own for more menus. When we were done, we asked for boxes which took a good 15 minutes to get. Then we were sitting around waiting for the bill, and noticed other people at the front paying at the cash register so we figured that's where you pay. No waiter to tell us where to find our bill or where to pay. We mentioned this to the server when paying that we felt ignored and no one cleaned up the table, and we got a blank look. Won't be back unless they work on their customer service. This is the old Cafe 440 space and it's sad it's been replaced by...
