I apologize in advance that this may be long. And Travis (At least im almost positive his name was Travis) I hope this business stays successful for you! Background: I've played a lot of games in my life. I collected Pokémon cards and still have them, I played D&D and Exalted in highschool pretty regularly. Ive also played countless videogames and I read a LOT of fantasy, primarily Grimdark. My boyfriend's son turns 12 in September and recently this last Christmas took an interest in warhammer. I knew nothing about warhammer. He would go on and on at the dinner table and it was like my eyes glossed over and I went to outerspace. There's a lot of lore, and when a kid explains it? Emperor save us. Anyway we went to the store to find some stuff for his birthday. We have since started playing tacticus with him, but thats been about the extent. Painting miniatures sounds like a blast to me, so im excited to get into this with him. Even if my own son isn't interested. The point is this- we came into the shop and Travis was patient, eager to assist us, answered all of our questions, inquired about our needs, and told us about all sorts of cool stuff thats available at this shop. Thanks for being cool! Im used to people gatekeeping me from these hobbies as a woman, and almost worse now that im a mom. Being so open and willing to help is what got me watching tutorials on painting techniques and designing my army for the beauty pageant. (The contest 😂) I used my audible credit for the trilogy about inquisitor Eisenhorn. Very excited to become a part of warhammer, finally, just for the fun of the hobby. As an artist, a product manager for a paint manufacturer, and a lover of grimdark, this is just so perfect for me. We will gladly spend a little more to buy locally from this dude instead of ordering online. You're the...

I recently got into Warhammer 40k and my birthday had come up so a few friends of mine joined me on an adventure for my first ever visit to a Warhammer Store.
It was so cool to see what was all available and immediately be greeted by people having fun playing games, painting, and discussing this hobby!
We were met With Travis (A staff member and Super cool dude btw) and he asked us about our interests in the Hobby and then asked us if we were interested in a free lesson in painting a model.
We took Travis' offer and he made us feel so at home and was such a great teacher. Patient, kind, and funny. All of my friends and I were so in-tuned with the lessons he was teaching and also just the way he was able to support each of us.
Some of my friends were in the know about 40k but those who weren't seemed immediately hooked on painting the models and I really do think that was due to how Travis spent time and interacted with us.
Later, Travis helped us pick out some gear we wanted to purchase to paint our first round of models and he again, was such a great help and vibe.
All in all, for it being my birthday and getting the chance to really dive into a hobby that I'm so excited to get started with, this store, the community, and Travis, was definitely the best way to get into the Hobby.
I wish I could give more than the 5 stars on here, please do come by to check...

As a kid, going to the games workshop store in my hometown I always got belittled and ignored by the staff. Very much felt like gatekeeping as I didn’t know what I was doing and wasn’t very good at what I did know.
Travis is the consummate opposite of this; incredibly inclusive, involved and engaged. He appears to always make time to get on a customers level and have an earnest engagement with them, regardless of how busy the shop gets. He takes pride in his store and his community. It is always a warm experience and it never feels like he is trying to sell you something, it feels like he’s inviting you in on something he loves and thinks...
