I have recently been very let down by this location. It seems they can't keep staff even log enough to keep their doors open during regular business hours. Last week I went and they were closing at 3pm since they had no staff and I was told they ran out of pork and since they were leaving early were not making more. I am not sure how you run out of pork by 3pm if you normally stay open until 930pm. I settled for the chicken and when I got back to work it was the dinkiest portion of food ever. I went back today and I called before to make sure they were open and had the pork. They said yes to both. I went there and although it was very dead inside with only a couple other customers it took over 18 min to get my 1 mixed plate lunch. Forgive me if I am wrong but isn't the food already cooked? Don't they just scoop it onto the plate? I waited patiently and then when I got back to work and started eating my lunch the rice was not all the way cooked. I could only eat some of it as the rice was crunchy and not cooked through. But since I was on my lunch I ate what I could. Each time I tipped the team there but the last 2 times I was there I spent over $35 for the plates. This is a lot of money to not get food that was worth it. Do better at this location. This...

Attempting to plan ahead I called my order in 20 minutes prior to arriving to Hawaiian time so I could rush in and grab lunch for work. I was told 5 minutes. When I arrived 20 minutes later I payed the gentleman at the counter, and he asked me to stand to the side and wait. The ladies that were directly in front of me recieved their order that they had JUST placed at the counter, then the gentleman that placed the order at the counter that was standing BEHIND ME in line recieved his. 10 min later after seeing multiple people recieve there order, that had entered after me that were placing their orders at the counter I asked the cashier if they had forgotten my phone order. He said no, we put in phone orders at a much later time. (Kida weird if you ask me?) Anyway it typically wouldn't be a big deal, but i was late for work over this. If you are in a rush order at the counter. I guessi don't understand the point of calling in an order at this establishment. The food was good...

Went in. It was a dead quiet atmosphere. Felt a bit awkward. The cashier was actually nice, he said they were out of pork for my mixed plate so I tried the other kind of chicken that came heavily recommended, but that I’ve never tried. Honestly, I didn’t really get a chance to enjoy my meal. When the kitchen staff is too quiet and making awkward gestures in the back, it never makes for a stellar eating experience. Got home and dug in… the chicken was ok but I would’ve just rather went with the non spicy kind I usually get. About halfway through eating I bit down on something that felt hard like an uncooked grain of rice but that had some not so tasty flavor. Could have been nothing but you never know. Didn’t make me feel very good about eating the meal! Didn’t make me feel very good after. 👎🏽 sidenote: the ones in the Springfield area are much better. Was kind of surprised to find this! But this is a highly location dependent review. Consider hiring new...

Stopped in for the first time today after hearing about it from multiple co workers for ever... Got there at 815 and ordered the mauna loa chicken. After reading about the long wait times, I was pleasantly surprised at less than 8 minutes wait. They were not busy, but had a nice line flowing through. The chicken was very good, not really spicy, but a touch of heat. The rice was very good, and the Mac salad was excellent. This was better than most of the places I went to on the Big Island last year honestly. The teriyaki sauce was not overly sweet or salty, and I was very happy with my first try. The price is right for 11.95 for the medium plate. I couldn't finish it all. I will be back again soon to try some other Hawaiin flavors.

Usually go to the river road location and have no issues ever. Went to Coburg road and ordered a #4 with no Mac, extra sauce, and extra rice. This was the least appealing dish I've ever wasted my hard earned money on. It looked so unappetizing and dry (since it's completely apparent that there was NO SAUCE!) I didn't even eat it. I ended up making my own teriyaki and cooking up some chicken I had in the fridge. I will make a point to specifically tell people not to waste their money at this location.

**Totally beyond our expectations! 😊** Our first time trying Hawaii food. The grilled chicken, pork, and vegetables here are absolutely amazing! The flavors are sweet and perfectly cooked. (I would say it’s quite similar as Chinese food). The staff is also incredibly friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the peaceful, relaxing ambiance of the restaurant, especially during the beautiful sunset. This place exceeded all of our expectations (from Google reviews)
