I was so excited when this truck popped up in town, having lived here for years and missing the fancy coffees that larger cities offer. I was a supporter from day 1 and I made sure that my previous job promoted this business to our customers, and I enjoyed a coffee as often as I could. I even reached out to the owners and showed my support and excitement for them to be in town, and interacted with their business posts online.
Last night, I saw a facebook post from Java Dudes page about a "customer appreciation" deal, and it said "5 16oz drinks for $20." I was so excited, and texted my coworkers a screenshot and we agreed one of us would pick up the drinks and we'd all only have to pay $4. This is a great deal, considering a coffee here costs $8+ usually. When I got there, they informed me that there was a typo on their post last night, and the sale was only for 4 drinks. I showed them my screenshot of the post from 5:26 pm the night before where it said "5" drinks TWO separate times in the post. They said it didn't matter, and that I would have to pay full price for one drink. They charged me $30 (that's $10 for one of the drinks, as opposed to the $4 we expected). I reached out to the owners on facebook messenger and explained the situation, and sent screenshots with timestamps to prove that the post did say 5 drinks last night. I was respectful and wanted to bring the situation to light so the owners could know what happened and I wouldn't be leaving a damaging review.
They told me, and I quote, "So sorry for the misinformation, but we did change it so it was supposed to be four for 20 and we did make sure we changed it on all our information. Sorry your screenshot will not work." It would have been so simple for someone there to honor the original post in this instance, since it was the businesses mistake, and keep their word, but they did not. They could have apologized when I reached out and offered to make it right somehow, but instead they doubled down. Take that as you will! I personally will be supporting a different local coffee shop that has consistent prices, offers a local's discount, and treats me and their other customers with respect...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to trying Java Dudes on the last day of our honeymoon after seeing so many great reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected.
From the moment we pulled up to the window, the interaction was tense. The person working there was incredibly aggressive and had a noticeable attitude. We were polite and friendly, so the tone we were met with felt completely uncalled for and honestly ruined what was supposed to be a sweet, relaxing end to our trip.
To make matters worse, the drinks weren’t even good. The hot drink we ordered was only filled three-quarters of the way, and the iced drink was mostly ice with barely any actual coffee. Worst of all, the espresso tasted over-extracted, bitter and VERY unpleasant, certainly not worth the hype or the poor customer service.
It’s really disheartening when a place gets so much praise online but completely fails to live up to it, especially during such a meaningful trip in our lives. We hoped for something special and left feeling disrespected and disheartened. Not the memory we wanted to take...

This drive-through is part of my daily rhythm and one of the little gems in our hometown. The service is always quick, friendly, and consistent — even when the line is long, the staff keeps things moving with a smile. It’s clear they care about both locals and visitors, making everyone feel welcome.
What I appreciate most is the reliability: whether it’s my morning stop, a mid-day pick-me-up, or a late-afternoon treat, I know I’ll get exactly what I’m hoping for. The quality is always on point, prices are fair, and the convenience can’t be beat.
In a small town, places like this are more than just a drive-through — they’re part of what makes home feel like home....
