Los Bagels - Eureka, CA

Look, I wanted to like Los Bagels. I really did. Local joint, funky vibe, supposed community charm—check, check, and whatever. But the reality? It’s more like a crusty hipster shrine where overpriced mediocrity gets dressed up in avocado and self-importance.

Let’s talk bagels. If you’re gonna name your business after 'em, they better be bangers, right? Nope. These are barely passable—dry, flat, and lacking that chewy, satisfying bite that makes a real bagel worth carb-loading for. And don’t even get me started on the toppings. A schmear shouldn’t require a second mortgage, but here it feels like you’re being charged by the syllable. Wanna add lox? Hope you're cool with paying artisan prices for subpar slices.

The whole place reeks of Gen Z posch—kale vibes and moral superiority with every bite. Half the time I feel like I’m interrupting someone’s Instagram story just by ordering coffee. Speaking of which—yeah, the coffee sucks. Watery, burnt, and somehow still pretentious. It’s like a Starbucks employee had an identity crisis mid-pour.

Bottom line? Los Bagels is the kind of place that makes you miss greasy diners and boiled bagels that actually knew what they were doing. If you’re after authenticity and value, keep walking. But hey, if you want to spend $15 on a "world peace" bagel with a shot of condescension—this...

On January 23rd at noon I was introducing a friend to LB for the first time. I spoke of the cafe’s charm etc, however the staff was extremely rude and unfriendly, specifically 2 Caucasian girls. The shorter of the 2 was so rude we almost left. I was so embarrassed in front of my friend. Employees should be trained to greet patrons and to be attentive. We were not told about the self pour coffee. We were only given a paper cup. My friend was unsure of the protocol. After we sat I got up twice and I asked for my friend’s coffee but was totally ignored. The employee could’ve simply pointed to the coffee and said that it was self service but she looked at me and said nothing, although I asked in an appropriate moment of her attending to a customer, so I sat back down. The third time I asked I was directed by a male employee to the coffee station. We were made to feel that we were inconveniencing the employees. When our food was yelled out it sounded like the person was mad and annoyed, again embarrassing. Although I’ve been a patron since ‘84 and I like the food and ambiance I don’t think I’ll be going into the Eureka location anytime soon. This isn’t the first time eureka employees at LB have been grossly rude. Bad for business especially during a...

This is just MY OPINION try it for your self. but my wife and I were passing threw looking for good begals because my breakfast usually consists of just a simple everything begal toasted with cream cheese so figured we would go here and try some of the local flavor. I got here its really nice cafe style begal joint with a cool Aztec/latino style decor thought this was cool but anyways. I order my food they were really fast i ordered a jalapeno begal toasted with cream cheese toasted NOTE they did not have an everything begal through this was kinda weird to be honest but whatever. my wife ordered a parmasan begal toasted with cream cheese got it togo because we had alot of traveling for the day. FINALLY THE FOOD REVIEW lol we thought the begals were a little to grainy for our liking and the bad part the cream cheese was tart/sour which really threw us off and to be honest kinda made me feel a little sick. to the taste was kinda this super Dill or lemon taste that we thought was completely unnecessary but anyways good place good people not so great begals is the moral of the story here at Los Begals here in...

Are used to love coming here all the time and every time I always give this place another chance because of the absolutely horrible service I regret going back. Are used to come in every other day I got tired of the service and I started coming back once a week then it turned into every other month. I love ordering the scram bagel, even though the egg is cooked in the microwave. Management does not take care in training for directing their staff. I sat there trying to get assistance to order and there was 3 to 4 people walking around with no clue what was going on after I spent almost $30 on one bread P St., M, a scram bagel and chocolate. Nobody notified me that my order was even ready it took me to watch the staff that they were doing nothing to ask about my bagel which they followed up with. Oh it’s been sitting over there on the counter. I am entirely over this place and they’re overpriced microwave eggs , and especially their rude staff

1st time here on an off chance as we're going around downtown to look for coffee. What a find and what a wonderful experience both with the food and the staff. They have taken the appropriate COVID-19 protective measures which is much appreciated. Apart from that the staff were jovial, friendly, accommodating, and most importantly prompt in their food delivery. The cappuccinos were definitely something unexpectedly good. The foam and the coffee were just right unlike many places which over do the milk. The bagels and the toppings for them were fresh, juicy, and delicious. I totally appreciated the ambiance and hopefully once all this craziness subsides we can actually enjoy the the really we decorated inside. The walls and the tables were festooned with artifacts and photos of friends of the place with a particular emphasis on Mexican and Jewish imagery which I found fascinating and lovely. Totally recommend.

We stopped in here for a couple bagels during our walk through Old Town Eureka. We wanted to try their bagels which were supposed to be pretty good. We spent years in the New York area as bagel bakers so we are very critical of what people call a bagel. We tried one while we were in the store and it certainly made our mouth happy. They had a decent chew to them like a bagel should and didnt look or taste like a roll with a hole other bagels shops pass off as a NY bagel. Well worth the stop. Great variety of flavors and many other goodies and offerings in the store to eat. The staff was super nice and we really enjoyed talking to them. If you are visiting Eureka make this place a definite stop for a snack, breakfast or lunch.
