early 23' . when its on its a 4-5* and when it's off its really off. been off last 3 visits. when its off there is no justification for the price...sorry guys. update 24' final trip. over the last 4 years we have been let down absolutely every time we've come here. last night was again a total let down. it was her bday, we were given a gift certificate so we went for it... the menu had changed since last time and was heavy on the Italian side. So we went for a full Italian spread. the only star was the ceasar salad it was flavorful but sloppy. chefs are ego driven.. thats a fact. they put people around them who love their food. this is often the case in Humboldt. you get a little recognition and you just stop studying, learning, training, tasting, and begin to slip into "its good enough" the sickness which permeates this area. absolutely everything was subpar. apps were either over(arancini crunchy) or undercooked (gnocchi soft and raw), sauces were a bit odd(polenta/lasagne). no essence of truffle in any way on your black truffle dishes(gnocchi). lasagne half lukewarm. gnocchi soft and undercooked, carbonara dry bland and cold. we ordered drinks, ok but really you guys? minimal shaking on cocktails, no real effort. my negroni was ok, but already watered down when it got to me. we ordered a whiskey sour w/egg whites for her emphasized no ice in the glass please, and it came with ice... our waitress said we should have said "up" then it would come with no ice.. we pointed out the carbonarra, and only because they asked, the waitress soured after that. kind of as if we were being difficult. we weren't. that is not carbonarra, and no ice in my glass please is a sufficient substitute for up... overpriced for such a failed delivery. we won't be wasting our time again. you guys are extremely lucky that there isn't anywhere to get a decent carbonarra or lasagna in the county. your customers whom have never left will never know the difference....

Update 3/2024: they changed their mushroom polenta crostini to Polenta Crostini with Ragu. While it was good, won’t be re-ordering something I used to always order. Won’t remove a star for it as everything else was still on point. Please bring back the original polenta w/o a tomato base sauce. 12/2023: 511 has always been my fave restaurant here. Went there tonight and had the best food ever. It’s always been great but this was so so good. It was on point, delicious and what I kept referring to as a “foodgasm”. Food was so good that I only remembered to take pics of the main course. Forgot the appetizer & deserts. Their drinks are perfect although there’s usually a long wait to get a drink there for some reason. The Chocolate & Espresso pot de créme desert needs to stay on the menu. It was heavenly. The Bananas Fosters” Cake– Brûléed had a bit of crispiness on the top which took it up a few notches above any others I’ve ever tried. Nice touch. Appetizer (a repeat that I always get): POLENTA CROSTINI – Shiitake mushroom marsala, parmesan, herbs Entree: WOODFIRED FILET MIGNON (8oz) – Black truffle compound butter, crispy phyllo potatoes, broccolini & butter braised leeks, demi-glace Entree: GRILLED STEELHEAD – Lobster risotto, grilled asparagus, beurre blanc 38 Deserts: Chocolate & Espresso pot de créme– Cinnamon whipped cream “Bananas Fosters” Cake– Brûléed, vanilla ice cream, spiced rum caramel

First off, Five Eleven had some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Not only are they very reasonably priced, but they were just absolutely perfectly balanced and delicious. Enough alcohol to give it a punch, but not overpower the taste. For dinner, I had the Mac and Cheese, which was supposed to be a Duck Confit version but unfortunately they were out of it. Not a bad thing! They were upfront and very apologetic about being out of the main star of the dish but it's only because they have been unexpectedly busy. Which of course, after Covid, it's good to hear them doing so well again! But regardless, even though it's "just" Mac and cheese it was absolutely delicious and perfectly made with the key ingredient being White Cheddar which is simply the best. On top of everything the server was extremely friendly and helpful, and the manager came after the meal to personally thank me for supporting them by coming out and dining back in. A very nice touch!

A Culinary Gem in Eureka - Five Eleven Delivers a Memorable Dining Experience

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Five Eleven in Eureka, and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. Located in the heart of downtown, this restaurant is a true gem that blends modern cuisine with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the chic yet cozy ambiance. The interior is beautifully designed, with a perfect mix of contemporary décor and historic charm that reflects the essence of Eureka. The attention to detail in every aspect of the restaurant, from the lighting to the comfortable seating, made it an ideal setting for a relaxed and enjoyable meal.

The menu at Five Eleven is nothing short of exceptional. Each dish is crafted with care, showcasing the finest local ingredients that Humboldt County has to offer. I started with the roasted beet salad, which was a delightful mix of earthy beets, creamy goat cheese, and a tangy vinaigrette that tied everything together beautifully. It was a perfect introduction to what was to come.

For the main course, I chose the braised short ribs, and I was blown away by the rich, deep flavors of the dish. The meat was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth, and was complemented perfectly by the accompanying vegetables and a silky, flavorful jus. My dining companion opted for the seared scallops, which were equally impressive. Cooked to perfection, the scallops were paired with a risotto that was creamy, aromatic, and bursting with flavor.

The dessert menu is equally impressive, and we couldn't resist trying the chocolate lava cake. It was the perfect way to end the meal – rich, decadent, and perfectly balanced with a scoop of house-made vanilla ice cream.

What truly sets Five Eleven apart, however, is the exceptional service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Our server was more than happy to provide recommendations and made sure our dining experience was nothing short of flawless.

Whether you're a local or just passing through Eureka, Five Eleven is a must-visit. It offers a dining experience that is both sophisticated and welcoming, with a menu that celebrates the best of what this beautiful region has to offer. I can't wait to return and explore more of their...

Five Eleven in Eureka is one of the most impressive restaurants in town and a place that always delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Located right in Old Town, the setting immediately feels special with its elegant design, warm lighting, and modern yet comfortable atmosphere. It has that perfect balance of upscale and inviting, making it just as good for a night out with friends as it is for a romantic dinner or a celebration.

The food here is exceptional. The menu is creative and seasonal, showcasing the best local ingredients while putting a refined spin on classic dishes. Every plate that comes out of the kitchen looks like a work of art and tastes even better. Fresh seafood, perfectly cooked steaks, and inventive small plates all stand out, and each dish is crafted with clear attention to detail. Even the appetizers and sides feel carefully thought out, making it easy to order a table full of food and share.

The cocktail menu and wine list are another reason Five Eleven stands out. The drinks are strong, beautifully presented, and pair perfectly with the food. Whether you go for a signature cocktail, a glass of local wine, or something classic, you know it will be done right. It is the kind of place where sitting at the bar is just as enjoyable as dining at a table.

Service is consistently excellent, which makes the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The staff are professional, knowledgeable about the menu, and always happy to make recommendations. You never feel rushed and every detail is handled with care, which adds to the sense that you are somewhere special.

For me, Five Eleven is one of the restaurants that shows just how great dining in Eureka can be. It combines atmosphere, food, drinks, and service into a complete experience that leaves a lasting impression. It is a spot that feels local while still reaching the level of fine dining you would expect in a bigger city. Every time I leave I know I will be back, and I always recommend it to anyone looking for one of the very best...
