We drove seven hours from Vancouver, WA, specifically to book the room with a jet tub as prominently advertised on your Booking.com listing. I selected and paid for this specific room type, confirming its availability.
Our experience upon arrival was deeply disappointing and nothing like what was promised.
The room we were assigned did not contain a jet tub, or any tub at all. The shower was outdated and the room had a strong musty odor. The lobby also did not match the photos presented online, and the check-in process was an impersonal interaction with a staff member via a Zoom call. Discovering the room was not as advertised, we immediately returned to the front desk (the Zoom screen) to explain the error and request a refund. I showed the representative the Booking.com listing for the room I paid for, but she was not empowered to help, stating only that "only one room has that tub" and refusing a refund. We then contacted Booking.com directly but were disconnected twice, compounding our frustration. We left the property without staying a single minute as the accommodations were fundamentally different from what we contracted and paid for. We are not dissatisfied with a stay; we are requesting a refund for services not rendered. We paid for a specific, advertised room type that you did not provide.
I see you actively respond to reviews here. I trust you will rectify this situation by processing a full refund for our reservation. This is not simply a complaint, but a documented case of your property failing to deliver the...
Read moreI am happy to have stayed at the Eureka Town House Motel on two occasions. First on July 15th, a Monday night. Then again July 19 & 20, 2013 (Friday & Saturday). The accommodations were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful, providing useful information about the town & surrounding area. I rode a 2007 BMW Adventure bike, parked it in the well-lighted, covered parking [with abundant security cameras] and had no problems. There were several other customer motorcycles similarly parked on both occasions, and they also had no problems.
Unfortunately (and inaccurately) a local convenience store attendant and a local sheriff who was in the store at the time, both expressed negatively regarding possible theft or crime resulting from the local population of homeless people and drug addicts who are present in the Eureka area. The fact is that the motel owners live on the site and are keenly aware of all that transpires on their property, taking every precaution to eliminate potential crimes. Moreover, the motel is directly across the street from the local sheriff's office and there are regular patrol cars frequenting the immediate area at all hours of the day & night.
While I would recommend being alert and cautious when traveling in the Eureka area [good advice when traveling in any strange environment], I would not hesitate to again stay in the Eureka Town House Motel when in the area. The owners/operators of the motel are exceptionally helpful & friendly and their pricing is...
Read moreDon't let its close proximity to the Carson Manion fool you. The neighborhood where this hotel is located is extremely sketchy and fool of tweakers! I was anticipating a lovely beach town holiday, with night time strolls, instead, we ended up driving just a few hundred yards, as I did not feel safe walking around the area even during the day. I came here 15 years ago, and this part of town was extremely pleasant, but not anymore. The people who run the city, and the voters who elected them, have failed big time!
There also isn't one decent restaurant in the vicinity.
In addition, the building itself is very poorly designed. We were so confused trying to find the entrance and exit, and parking inside the garage was very challenging, because of its poor design. The staff didn't provide us with enough tea, and we kept having issues with the hot water in the sink and shower. The room was hot and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable, and it looked like someone had ripped the towel racks off the wall. Our suite however, was spacious and had a lovely view, which is the only reason this hotel is getting two stars. But the property in general seemed very poorly maintained, and it's pretty obvious that they have people here living full time, and the owner is cutting corners.
I would not recommend this area to anyone, and would suggest getting a hotel in Trinidad or Ferndale instead, which are much...
