Overall, this is my first time in California. When I’m craving dessert, I lean towards ice cream. Today! I stumbled across an hidden gem in America, and it’s called “Living the Dream Ice Cream”! When I say, by far, from the East of Jacksonville, Florida, to the swamps of New Orleans, Louisiana, to grandmothers soften mitten of Michigan. I scream, you scream, we all scream Ice cream! And these guys are definitely in a lane of their own. If you’re on a vacation, baecation, or even just passing through! Please stop and grab you a waffle cone and bowl, because it’s just that good! Don’t forget to tip because these ladies work hard to bring you the best flavors that ice cream can offer. I’m definitely coming back for more 😘🥰😍🍨

Living the Dream is a tiny little ice cream shop with rich delicious usual and some unusual flavors. Exciting to try though! Though it's tiny, there are still two tables to sit and enjoy your ice cream. The staff was young and friendly. This visit I just got a kid size birthday cake flavor. This size is perfect if your little one can't finish a regular scoop. My son didn't even finish the children's cup I have pictured. But he did enjoy it. He was more interested in playing outside the shop. They have more than just ice cream options. They had some delicious looking ice cream cakes, and different shakes/drinks. I'll be returning on my cheat day to get what I want.

In house made ice cream is a dying trait for shops like this. But Living the Dream is keeping it alive and well. The line tells you the product is good. There are lots of flavors to try and they are pronouncedwell in every bite. Be sure to get the flight to experience a lot at once. The only downside was it was on the icey side, a slower churn would help with this. Service was great even with only on staff member on sight and a line out the door just before closing. The decor is welcoming and pleasant to enjoy a treat

Living the Dream Ice Cream is one of those rare little gems that makes you want to come back again and again. Tucked next to the boardwalk in Eureka’s Old Town district, this small-batch gelato shop is a must-visit if you’re exploring the area or just need a sweet escape.

The vibe is fun and friendly from the moment you walk in. The shop is cozy but full of personality, with a rotating menu of unique and mouthwatering gelato flavors that make it hard to choose just one. Thankfully, they offer flights—a sampler of several flavors—which is perfect for indecisive folks or anyone who wants to try something new. From classics like pistachio and dark chocolate to adventurous seasonal creations like blackberry basil or lemon lavender, there’s always something fresh and exciting on the menu.

Beyond the gelato, they also serve other goodies and special treats that are perfect for kids and adults alike. The quality of ingredients is noticeable, and you can tell the owners put real thought into every detail. Even the texture of the gelato is spot on: smooth, rich, and never icy.

Another bonus is the location. You can take your treat and stroll along the boardwalk just steps away, where you’ll find beautiful views of Humboldt Bay and a charming mix of shops and galleries nearby.

Living the Dream lives up to its name—it’s joyful, delicious, and exactly the kind of place you want to support. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, don’t skip it. Go for the gelato flight, savor every bite, and enjoy one of the sweetest spots...

I always wanted to try their ice cream as the line during the weekends is pretty long. Finally, we were in Eureka during a week day and there were only couple of customers ahead of us. A family in front of us requested a sample and was given one. When it was our turn, I also asked to sample one flavor, but, unfortunately, I was told that they are not providing samples at this moment. It was annoying because i was right there when a customer in front of me requested one. And the lady behind the counter was aware of that. I ordered a milkshake. The lady went to grab ice cream to put in a cup, but somehow it slipped out of her hands and landed on the counter, she leaned towards the counter to make sure it doesn’t land on the floor. That scoop of ice cream ended up being on the counter and touching her apron. She scooped it right into the cup and went to the machine to make a milkshake. When that milkshake was handed to me, it was covered with milk and overflowing. I was fine with that whole fiasco about the scoop, but her first comment of not letting me sample it and that on top, made my experience not as smooth and nice as I...

If you're looking for real ice cream that's not good for you (and actually tastes like ice cream) This place is not for you. Got a strawberry shake (for just under $7, mind you.) and the whole thing tastes like foamy milk. Not even a hint of strawberry to be found. You can get much better shakes for way less... literally anywhere else.

I understand the gelato and dairy free appeals to people and im not trying to bash the business here but I got a regular strawberry that wasn't marked dairy free or gelato and it didn't taste anything like ice cream... or strawberries.

Feel free to try it yourself but if you're like me who was looking for something that isn't healthy for you, this is not the place for you.

Again, $6.65 for foamy milk. No thank you.

Edit: although my mother seems to like it and in her words it because it's "not too sweet".

Again, I understand other people like this and I ask you to try it for yourself. but, if your like me and you're looking for something strong... this probably isn't the...
