Last weekend we went visited Eureka Books Historic bookstore for the first time, at least myself. My husband has visited before but did not get to enjoy the time as he was shopping for special occasion.

This time, he invited me to go with him because he knows how much I love reading and finding great books.

When we arrived, they were getting ready for the Art Alive, and also it was the new owner's first anniversary of purchasing the bookstore.

First thing captured my attention, was the layout, and the lighting. It was very open, spacious, and bright. Many bookstores and libraries dim the lights, but this one was natural light and nice light distribution throughout the floors.

Another cool thing I found, that they had special collections and historical books. I enjoyed walking through inhaling the smell of fresh book pages, browsing through the new and old books.

My husband and I set down by the cook books area, we both love to cook. And we found lots of amazing international cook books. We even found some of our favorite chefs cook books. Then we traveled to the second floor where we just sat down and read through books we picked from different genres like fiction, poetry, true crime, and biography.

The was live music when we visited because of the event happening in town, but in general my husband said its usually calmer and more relax atmosphere.

We are absolutely going back to spend more time enjoying the books and to explore more around...

Eureka books is a charming store. With an amazing collection. They may have the most extensive collection of local authors anywhere in Humboldt County. In addition, they carry a large collection including non-fiction, local history, literature, children's books, Manga, graphic novels, and a growing collection of role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons. Browsing books is encouraged, as there are numerous chairs and benches throughout the store. If you need help you'll find the owner or his staff to be charming and knowledge, ready to direct you to your book or put in an order if it's not in stock. Another reason to visit is the building itself. The building's interior features a dramatic two-story open space with a wraparound gallery on the second floor. This Victorian-era architectural element adds grandeur and functionality, offering panoramic views of the main floor. Eureka...

This is truly one of the most beautiful and well-curated bookstores I’ve ever visited. The knowledgeable, friendly staff make browsing a pleasure, and the atmosphere is magical. Located in a gorgeous historic building in Old Town, it offers a wonderful selection of titles across genres. We were visiting from Los Angeles a little over two weeks ago and were so glad this gem was recommended to us. The in-store signing events sound fantastic (I was sad to miss them). My only suggestion would be a mailing list or newsletter for out-of-town customers who can’t stop by regularly but want to...

This is a very nice bookstore. My husband and I went here and found lot of gaming books and manga. We were not expecting this historic bookstore to have gaming books so it was a treat to see them. The bookstore itself is bright and has a second floor that has even more books. I like the layout and the openness of the place. We spent some time browsing and chillaxing here. The floors also have rugs (fancy) which you usually don't see in regular book stores. It made the place extra cozy. If you're ever in Eureka, check this place out.
