My husband and I have never been and thought we would try this place so we went yesterday evening 8/10 around 8:15p.m We waited at the host booth when an older woman with short dark hair yelled from the service area if we were here with a group when I said no she gave me a strange look then left us up there for a few minutes before approaching. We were asked if we would like to sit at the hibachi or at a table, I asked for hibachi she sat us at a table at the front of the restaurant. After sitting and looking at the menu for 10 minutes she came back and asked if we wanted drinks, my husband ordered a Modelo and I ordered a hot tea. After another 10 minutes we got our drinks, but the beer you gave my husband was either left open in the back to go flat and stale or it was something else poured into the bottle, and to give me a cup of tea so full it spilled on the table when it was put down and was still to the brim. This being a Japanese restaurant if you know what that means then you know what that means. But I digress. After waiting a grand total of 25 minutes to be served we decided we did not like the lack of service and decided we didn't want to eat there so we were just going to pay for our drinks and leave. Nobody ever came back to the table so I went in search of an employee when the older woman with short dark hair who had sat us appeared. I told her that we wanted to pay for our drinks and leave where as she proceeded to laugh at me and asked really loudly if it was because I don't have enough money to eat here?!? I was in shock and stood silent as she literally walked away laughing when my husband spoke up very loudly that there was a family emergency and we needed to pay for our drinks and leave. When she finally did go get our check and came back with it she asked my husband the same thing she asked me " is it because we can't pay to eat here?" Repeatedly He said no just family emergency we have to go. Out of spite I made sure she saw what was in my wallet when I paid. I'm not a confrontational person in general so we just did what we had to to leave. Over the years considering my husband is much older than I and works a very hard job in a factory for the past 30 years I am used to being profiled to an extent from his appearance alone, but the way the staff at this restaurant made us feel was deplorable, I worked in the food service industry for over 20 years and have NEVER treated anyone the way my husband and I were treated at this establishment and will never come back either. If you can't treat everyone who comes into your restaurant with some semblance of professionalism then you shouldn't be in the restaurant business period! If I could leave negative stars I would. We should have checked the reviews before deciding to come here because we do have just driven...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars, I would. Fuji’s House is, without a doubt, the worst excuse for a hibachi restaurant I’ve ever had the misfortune of stepping into. This place is a complete scam wrapped in a dirty, sticky, grease-stained nightmare.
First off, the smell when you walk in isn’t that amazing, mouthwatering grilled aroma you’d expect—it’s a combination of burnt oil, sewage, and disappointment. The floors are disgusting, like they haven’t been cleaned since the place opened. The entire atmosphere is just off—the staff look miserable, the music is either blaring or nonexistent, and you can just feel the chaos.
Now, let’s talk about the “hibachi experience.” Spoiler alert: there isn’t one. Our so-called chef had zero energy, barely spoke, and looked like he was about to pass out from pure boredom. No show, no fun tricks, no enthusiasm—just someone robotically tossing food on the grill like they were flipping burgers at a gas station. I’ve seen more excitement from a microwave timer.
And the food? An absolute joke. My chicken was still pink, the steak was somehow burnt on the outside and raw inside, and the shrimp? I’ve seen fresher-looking shrimp in a bait shop. Everything was either drowning in soy sauce or completely tasteless—there was no in-between. I wouldn’t serve this garbage to a stray dog.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Fuji’s House will bleed you dry with their shady pricing. Everything costs extra. Want fried rice instead of plain white? That’s extra. Want more than three measly pieces of shrimp? Pay up. Want a little extra sauce? That’ll cost you, too. And don’t even think about getting a soda refill without another charge tacked on. But here’s the best part—they charged me MORE than what the menu said. When I pointed it out, they hit me with some nonsense about “prices changing” and refused to fix it. Imagine running a scam this openly and not even caring.
And the final insult? A FORCED 18% TIP. For what, exactly? For the non-existent performance? For the server who ignored us half the night? For the half-raw, overpriced garbage on my plate? The absolute audacity of this place to demand an automatic tip for literally the worst dining experience I’ve ever had is almost impressive. Almost.
This place is a scam, a joke, and an insult to food. Save your money, your time, and your stomach. You’d be better off eating expired ramen at home. At least that won’t come with a forced tip and a side of...
Read moreI was pretty disappointed with this place. We had a large party of 18 that we had reservations for. We were finally seated 45 minutes after our reservation start time because another party was just sitting there after they finished eating. Once we were sat down our orders were taken and all was well. Like I said our party was large so we took up 2 hibachi grills. The first chef came out and cooked for half of the party. We were waiting for a 2nd chef to come out to start our food but they didn't. The first chef finished cooking on the first grill so half of our family finished eating before a chef came out and started cooking ours. Annoying, but whatever. What I didn't appreciate was the them coming and kicking half of our party out because they were finished eating because they decided to cook their meal first instead of all together. We got our whole family together to have a meal together and half of us got kicked out and didn't even get to enjoy each other. Why didn't you kick the first party out that kept us waiting 45 minutes? Why would you kick out half of our party when we made reservations to eat together? They had enough chefs to cook both of our meals but decided for whatever reason not to and then get mad cause the first half of our group was waiting on us. Do better.
Also we ordered spring rolls and I asked if there was fish in it. They said no, but when I opened it it smelled like fish. They said "there's no fish, just shrimp" Shrimp is fish. I'm not understanding why they are saying shrimp isn't fish. If I had a fish allergy it could have ended badly had I not double...
