Hole in the Wall — Restaurant in Fairfield

This morning I decided to stop by Hole in the Wall, a spot I hadn’t been to in a long time and was excited to treat myself to a loaded steak breakfast burrito. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. From the moment I called to place my order, the girl who answered was rude. When I asked what came on the burrito (since I have an allergy), she acted annoyed and hesitant to answer. When I arrived to pick up my order, she bypassed the payment screen before I even had a chance to leave a tip, didn’t offer me a receipt, and when I asked for one, she responded with attitude. I also asked for hot sauce, and she told me it was at the end of the counter. When I went there, she then said they were out—only to go to the back and grab some after I questioned her. Later, I called to ask for the manager’s name to report how poorly I was treated, and the same girl (I assume) answered, told me the manager was on vacation, and then refused to give me his name. I work hard for my money, and it’s upsetting to be treated so poorly when I’m simply trying to enjoy a meal. If you’re unhappy with your job or having a bad day, that should never be taken out on customers. Had I not been rushing to work, I would have asked for a refund. I truly hope management takes this review seriously and addresses their staff’s attitude and customer service. Sadly, because of this one experience, I will not be returning to Hole...

I'm rating this on my first and only experience here. If I am in the area I would like to give it another try but, I wasn't thrilled after my first visit. I should have taken a picture for reference. I ordered a chicken quesadilla which really doesn't have any description other than that. When I got it it was not at all what I expected. It was incredibly spicy which I really don't mind but, with no description of ingredients other than what I was expecting it was a surprise. It would have been okay had it not been covered in grease. I mean covered. Soaking. It was so bad that the parchment they had it on was wet and I had to pat it with three napkins and there was still grease leaking out. I don't know what it was that made it this bad but, it was awful. I painfully ate half of it and it was only because I was starving and didn't have time to make another stop. I ordered catering with just over 24 hours notice, which is obviouly not ideal. They were extremely helpful in helping me determine how much food to order for my party and made suggestions on what food to include based on the popularity of their menu. When it came time to pickup the food, the order was ready right on time and there were no issues. They did their best to ensure the food was as fresh as possible, even waiting to make the fries until close to pickup time.

In terms of the food, the kids loved the tenders and fries. The adults loved them too, along with the sandwiches and wraps. Almost every adult asked us where we got the food from and were happy to take the extras home with them. Safe to say the food was a hit.
