The Reefshack — Restaurant in Fairfield

I am completely unhappy with the turn of events that occurred today and I will most definitely not be returning!

The owner himself was extremely disrespectful with zero customer service skills. The photos depicted on google need to be updated because they do not represent what will actually be served. Listen to the 1 star reviews. Today I was served something that looked way off and when I questioned it, the owner himself questioned who I was. When I questioned who he was back, he lied stating he was a “paying customer" that was sitting at the bar. Later on, the “paying customer” randomly came outside, found my table, and purposely slammed an empty cup in my face. I’m not sure about anyone else, but I find that very inappropriate. When you display horrible service infront of your employees it gives them the idea that they can preform the same way — which validates the other complaints I see here by ACTUAL paying customers!

I grew up in this industry and l'd just like to say good luck and I hope the bar is used more for customers than...

Giving the reef 3 solid stars because although good...there is room for improvement here. Came in during off-peak hours. Ordered a regular cheesesteak "the reefer" and waited the an average amount of time for it to be ready. What I got was a nice representation of that famed steak sandwich and there were some things I liked. The overall size was good the seeded roll was a very nice touch and the prime beef tasted fresh and high quality w/ the sandwich as a whole not being overly salty (bonus). My only knocks were the "cheese sauce" which I found to be really thin and lacking richness or depth of flavor that and it steak felt like it was missing something... Maybe butter toasting the rolls or adding peppers n mushrooms(if you're into those sort of things)..or making sure the prime rib is sliced against the grain would push it over the edge idk. Guess I'll have to come back...

We are disappointed in this restaurant and their response. We ordered burgers and they were all close to raw and undercooked with the meat completely red. We also received their salad and it had hair on it. We called and the manager said that the next meal would be on him. We went for our next meal and received the wrong order — when we called the Owner was dismissive and yelled, “Guys, make sure you get the burgers right.” We did not get a refund— Their prices are not cheap and had I let my children eat the burgers they would’ve gotten food poisoning. The service is not good and the young High School aged waiters are rude swearing and talking about personal things in front of their guests. I guess they cater the bar to college students. It’s too bad because it’s a great location near the beach but we will be going to the Fire House Deli...
