I am absolutely thrilled to have a Handelâs location in the Fairlawn area! Handelâs Ice Cream has been a longtime favorite of my family, so much so that we would often drive out of our way to the Cuyahoga Falls or Green locations, passing many other local chains as Handelâs is what we truly prefer and have never had a bad experience. I have visited this location now three times and have been very impressed by the cleanliness, attentiveness, and lovely environment. The ice cream at the Fairlawn location holds up to the same quality that we love. It is worth noting, the portion sizes have varied in each of my visits, but I truly think they are finding their footing and hope to see a little bit more consistency as time goes on. They have everything going for them⌠location, friendly staff, cleanliness, quality ice cream, variety of options⌠I am excited to see them thrive! I am saddened and confused to see so many negative and discouraging reviews. It should be noted that the negative reviews are quite similar and repetitive, (not to mention they all ironically have recent positive reviews at another nearby local chainâŚ). I love supporting local businesses and enjoy seeing them thrive, and hope our surrounding community members want the same success for our local businesses and their owners. Kindness and a little bit of...
Read moreHandel's: Where Diets Go to Scream (with joy!) Entering Handel's is like finding a magical place where ice cream dreams come true, and calorie counting is forgotten. The ice cream churns seem to be powered by joy and a bit of magic. Every scoop offers a new taste adventure. Although the vanilla is exceptional, there are other flavors. "Spouse Like a House" might make someone want to propose to their ice cream cone. "Graham Central Station" is another excellent choice. The portions are generous; a "single scoop" is similar to a small village's daily ice cream supply. You might need a forklift to carry it and a support group for the sugar rush. Is it worth it? Absolutely. The only regret is not being able to try all the flavors in one sitting. Unless, of course, someone wears stretchy pants and commits to a week of Handel's, which sounds like a good idea. Service at the new Fairlawn store was outstanding, we were greeted with rainbow sprinkles and smiles. If you love ice cream and don't mind some indulgence, then you need to...
Read moreIâve been to the location twice and both times have been great. A quick source check revealed that many of the 1 star reviews are from ppl who either interviewed or had a family member who interviewed and werenât hired, have a personal issue with one of the HS workers, or work at a competitor. My disclosed conflict of interest is that our daughters work here and many of these kids are in the second week of their first jobs. The icecream we had was so good-love the cone with sprinkles and the cookie dough and mint chocolate chip. Mom loves chocolate pecan and ordered a quart. Quarts are hand packed as they are ordered and take time. The workers are limited as to how many orders they can take at a time so they often appear to be standing around when they are waiting for the backlog to clear. Businesses have glitches in their first week-most ppl know that. Enjoyed the great icecream and seeing Kids hard at work! Also, the place is busy but it also has a social component which...
