Mr. G's Pizzeria & Wings — Restaurant in Fairlawn

Boy did I struggle with this rating. On the one hand, I love LOVE their NY-style pizza. Big, wide slices. Good sauce flavor and just the right amount. Crispy, well cooked crust. From the first time I ordered it, Mr G's became my go-to pizza joint. The NY style pizza alone deserves 5 stars. Also, having lived outside of Philadelphia for years, I occasionally get a hankering for a good cheesesteak. While not great, their steak & cheese sandwich does well enough to scratch the itch, although I wish they would offer the option to add lettuce, fried onions, etc. The times I have requested additional toppings, I've been disappointed (raw red onion, chopped romaine lettuce like they repurposed their salad mix). While I could typically overlook all of that, what I can't get over is the poor quality of service. I've tried ordering online multiple times (with the system linked from THEIR website) and after an hour, had to call and confirm if they received it which they hadn't. On another occasion I called and placed an order for delivery (a single pizza) which didn't show up for 2 and a half hours. One of their delivery people had called out that night (which happens, I get it) but there was no warning of a delay or anything when I placed the order. So after all of those negative experiences, I now only order for pickup. I try to make it as easy as possible for them, and yet they still come up short. I've showed up to pick up an order to find out they hadn't even started it yet. The customer service by folks running the cash register is lackluster at best. At this point it's like they're actively trying to drive me away when all I want is to give them my money in exchange for pizza! I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship, and yet I can't bring myself to leave. Pizza - 5 stars. Service - 1 star. That's a 3 star average, and...

This is the first and last time I will be dealing with Mr. G's Pizzeria. I order from Mr. G's. I was recommend by friends who own a local shop. I ordered last night an extra large mushroom pizza to be delivered with a side salad.. The lady on the phone did not seem very organized nor was she pleasant on the phone. I was told it would take 45 to 50 minutes. I also was not told the amount I was beg charged on my credit card as well. Ok. So we waited, and waited well past an hour and the delivery car finally came. The driver seamed like a total stoner and presented me the bill ( I was shocked as to how much it costed. and secondly there was no salad and the delivery guy tried to talk his way out of getting the salad. He said he would go back and get the salad (lord knows that would have taken 2 more hours) adding insult to injury, the pizza was delivered cold and the bottom was burnt!

Never again for me!

My friend Chris who owns the retail store that ordered from Mr' G's before and who I ordered the pizza for our group called up and was told a long story it was "too hard" to give a refund and would "write down in a book" a credit to his shop. we will see if this is ever going to be true or not! Chris squared up with me but I do not know if Mr. G's is that stand up of a shop with these above mentioned misfits running (and ruining) things.

The owner needs to fire the cook, the delivery driver and the lady taking the phone orders. This three pack combo of misfits will destroy...

Overall, avoid if you need something besides takeout pizza. Slow/late service on an early Sunday night, grimy interior and unfriendly staff. Your mileage may vary but their food gave me minor food poisoning.

Background: ordered a chicken parm sandwich and wings to go, taken at 4pm, told it'll be a 25-35 minute wait. Went in at 4:33pm.

Unfriendly staff (-1): Of the 4 staffers I passed, the only waitress smiled hello.

Slow/forgetful service (-1): 35 minutes to deep fry some chicken wings and ready made fillets? It took 20 because I don't think they started my order until i showed up for pickup.

Late service (-1): I went in to pickup at 4:33 thinking I was late but was told it'd be a few minutes as I was cashing out. It wasn't until 4:53 that I received the order, no apologies or comment by the staff.

Grimy interior, no pride of ownership (-1): Every inch of the place above shoulder level is coated in black, greasy dust. The pizza oven looks broken and never wiped down. The pizza maker has shoulder length black hair flowing out under a baseball cap (in case you ever find one in your pizza). For the prices you're paying, they should be able to maintain the place better.

Food was gross (-1): chicken parm sandwich was dull and inedible. The bread was soggy, chicken tough and dry, sauce was waxy, no mozz cheese in sight. Wings were fine but they're better/cheaper at...
