The service was great, but the quality and portion of food for the price could be improved. Its been probably six years since I was in a Denny's when I was passing through Missouri, and it'll probably be another six years before I'll forget why I haven't been back sooner. I had the country fried steak breakfast. I believe the breading around the steak weighed more than the steak itself. The portion of hashbrowns was paper thin and scattered to give the illusion that it was worth the money, but in reality was about 5-6 bites/forks. One has to seriously think about it as if you were shopping and cooking at home. How much could one potato cost? Granted, you have to pay the staff, keep the lights on, and make a profit, but seriously! With a glass of milk I paid $15+ for two eggs, a country fried steak with less beef than a kids McValue burger. 1/4 of a potato worth of hashbrowns. Even with grocery prices soaring, and the economy in the tank, I didn't expect that! I was a bit stunned when the waitresses put my plate down. I even looked around to see if there was hidden cameras and I was on some sort of comedy show filming a reaction video. I did tip the waitresses well and never complained to her about it, because I know its not her fault. I even contemplated it was possibly a new cook. But seeing another diner with the same sorry excuse for a "meal," I simply paid and went on my way.
So to future dinners ... Do not be fooled by the pictures in the menu! I truly hope you are more satisfied than I was. I definitely would have rated this one or two stars had it not been for the speed that I was seated, and served. The waitresses deserves 75% of the profit from this meal, because there wasn't 25% of a meal...
Read moreI took my wife and 5 kids out to Dennys today and my wife and I both grew up going to Dennys. We always loved going here but they closed the one in grand forks and we were in fargo and decided to go here. I love the franchise but the food particularly was old dry and not fresh. The milkshakes we ordered for the kids and the wife, the waitress said "I'm sorry there melting fast"..... The story she didn't put really any ice-cream in them and they were 90% milk. Then when we ordered she said she had to split the food into two groups(which is fine for all the food) the 4 older kids got there food and 15 mins later my wife and 1 yr old got there's. I was told they were still making the food for mine. Another 5-10mins mine alone came out and by then my family was already done. My kids Mac n cheese you can tell they just microwaved it because it was only warm in the middle and the burger and fries for my meal even though mine took the longest to come out the fries were ice cold. We are sorry Dennys but because of the cooks and service at this Dennys we will no longer take our service here. For the crew at this location, I worked at restaurants when I was young, they need to care more about the customers and use common sense on the food making and delivery times. Very upsetting indeed. There is no excuse for the time it took for all the food in between. When you do a large top table all food comes out same time. No one likes being the only person not eating when the whole table has there food and worse yet no one wants to have a whole table wait on them to eat there food so...
Read moreVery unhappy with this place, we were sat way on an empty end of the restaurant and our waitress just kept visiting, talking with other staff & customers she was waiting on towards the front.😟
We even had to ask her twice if we could order, 1st time she didn't come to our table, second time we asked she came our table but said she had other orders to put into the computer 1st and would be back, but then she kept on visiting again. 😨
I called the restaurant from my cell phone asking hostess to send a waiter or waitress to our table, but she came to our table only to ask me to repeat what was going on" then she said she would get someone, but the manager, hostess and neglectful waitress decided to have a meeting on our issue right there in front of everyone.😕
We got up and started to leave, after near the exiting doors the manager says aloud, "I was coming to take your order!"
I smiled and said, "That's fine, we are already up and going somewhere else as you can see. We will not be a problem to serve anymore since that's how it went. Thank you." 😧
Then we left.
As a restaurant business in a competitive market in a bigger city for customers you would think they would be up there in their servicing skills, but looks like they don't know what "good customer service" is anymore. They were not busy either.😡
Talk about disappointment here at this Fargo ND Denny's, glad this not only one in ND, we do love Minot & Bismarck ND Denny's, they don't give you a reason to leave even if they are busy.😊
