Freddy's takes both their food and the military very seriously. This is the second Freddy's I have been to, the other being in Jacksonville. Both are larger towns with a significant military component due to having an adjacent military installation. The founder himself is prior service, which likely accounts for much of this.
Freddy's has a hybrid decor of 1950s and modern. It's quirky but it works. Both Freddy's I have been to have been extremely chilly inside, with noticeable cool air blowing. While this is great for their outstanding frozen custard, it does no favors for their delicious fried pickles or fish sandwiches. Nor any of their other hot offerings, for that matter. I was quite cold while eating, but it did force me to justifiably apply myself to one of the most delicious fast food fish sandwiches I can ever recall having in my lifetime, thus finishing it while it was still at least warm. (The first bite burned my tongue, that's how cold it was in there.) The fried pickles were also delicious, though they could have stood for some additional draining before consumption. I've had the burger and fries before, so I wanted to sample new items, and this combination is easily a new favorite of mine.
Service was swift and friendly. I was able to swap my combo drink out for custard, so I had a chocolate brownie sundae. It was good, certainly, but I prefer the turtle sundae I had during my previous Freddy's experience. The chocolate brownie sundae disappeared quickly as well - very tasty. You can eat your hot food and then go to the counter where they will make and deliver your custard for dessert, ensuring it doesn't melt on you while you eat your meal.
I had to take a picture of this box on the order counter. I had not seen anything like it in recent years, and as a veteran myself, it meant a lot to see the support.
Better than your typical fast food, the only frozen custard place in the south that I know of (Culver's is apparently mainly in the upper Midwest only, unfortunately), great service, unique atmosphere, and interesting menu options. Highly recommended - with...
Read moreMy family and I stopped in for a quick meal this afternoon. Upon arriving everything seemed as usual, but we received our orders and the food was terrible tasted as if the meals had not been heated at all. Our fries were hard and cold as if they had been sitting for hours absolutely Not Fresh at all. I went to the Men's room and the stall was nasty with hair all over it as if it had Not been cleaned for a day or so. There was a pool of urine on the floor beneath the stall a total Hazard for a Slip and Fall. The smell in the restroom was a strong urine odor. We paid $30.00 for the meals and we just finally gave up and threw it in the trash, because we couldn't eat that terrible mess. Before I left I spoke with the General Manager who seemed the least concerned about this experience I explained to her. I let her know that we would Never stop in again and I was going to let it be known this place is worst than an interstate gas station and way too costly for such poor service. I was very displeased with this result and her unwillingness to hear the issues. I also observed two employees flirting at the drive thru window having a sensual moment with the ice cream!! I would not pay nor suffer anyone to pay money for this poor service and unprofessionalism on the part of the General Manager; The gentlemen that told me he was the Assistant Manager and the male and female employees who were having a personal sensual episode at the drive thru window. The entire staff should be fired immediately for this circus of representing a high yield franchise that is supposed to render outstanding food service; professionalism; and common courtesy to its customers. As a retired Military Veteran I was lost for words and just accepted that I wasted my $30.00 dollars at this place. I wouldn't recommend anyone eat at this establishment when there's other restaurants in the immediate area that have a way better atmosphere; cleanliness; and great food that is served...

I have always been curious about this franchise but I never committed to try it. However on this particular day I decided to give it a chance.
This restaurant located on Ramsey Street is pretty easy to access. Once I arrived it was easy to find a parking spot as they were not crowded.
Appearance: your restaurant appeared to be very clean the tables were clean there was no paper on the floor so that was a plus.
Once I approached to order the menu board was difficult for me to read. I am a bit visually impaired so that was part of a struggle. However the associate was friendly and willing to help so that experience was not bad. She took the time to kindly answer my questions, so customer service was good.
They appeared to be adequately staffed and my meal was prepared in rapid time, so that was good as well.
Once I receive my food, I noticed I did not receive the fry sauce or the ketchup that was requested upon order and was clearly stated on the receipt, so I had to go back and ask for it. I didn't have any problems getting it but I had to go back and ask for it.
I was excited to die then for a taste test in my Miller opted for onion rings for a 50 cent up charge versus the fries that directly come with the combo meal.
The food look good and smelled great. However, the taste test was very disappointing. It was just not what I expected. There was no particular unique taste about the burger or the fries. As a matter of fact they were just playing or bland if you will. I appreciate the pickle to onion ratio, which was to my liking, but outside of that I was truly disappointed. Even the fry sauce did not help, as it was bland as well. I had a diet Pepsi, mini restaurants have problems with fountain drinks and this was more of the same, it was just carbonated, no flavor.
I will not be eager to return, as I started this post it was okay but not impressive, but if you haven't tried it, check it out and judge...
