Birthday Dinner for 4 I called ahead a few days in advance to make a reservation and was told they did not take reservations. I advised that there would be 4 of us coming in at 5pm and the person on the phone told me there should not be any problem getting us seated. I also asked about the Birria Tacos because that was the special request of my Bday daughter. The staff on the phone said they make the Birria fresh and sometimes they run out. He advised that they may be on their second batch at the time of our arrival, but they should have enough to accommodate my daughter. We arrived at the restaurant and noticed they had an ample parking lot. There were a lot of cars, which made me think it was super busy at that time. We entered and received a lukewarm welcome and were seated immediately at a good table. I noticed they had outside seating and another area with a covered patio, but we were good in the main dining room. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders. Frida’s provided complimentary chips and Salsa. To me, the salsa was a little bland and did not have any spice to it. We ordered the queso and a cup of guacamole. My youngest and I attacked the queso while Wifey and the oldest took care of the guacamole. We all thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers. We checked out the extensive menu at Frida's, finding plenty of enticing options. The birthday girl, of course, went for the Birria tacos with fries, Wifey opted for grilled shrimp tacos on corn tortillas, my oldest daughter chose the Mango Salmon, and I went for the Chicken Tequila, which featured grilled shrimp on top. Food was flying out of the kitchen, going to other tables and everything looked and sounded good. Our orders weren't far behind. The birthday girl started doing the good food dance after her first bite of the Birria tacos. She loved it but filled herself up with chips and appetizers, so she only ate a little and was able to take a couple of the tacos home. My oldest, who ordered the salmon, also broke out in the happy food dance. I really liked my Chicken Tequila, the shrimp were fresh and everything was hot and delicious. I added some Green Chili hot sauce to kick it up. The food was the star of the show—everyone loved their dishes. For dessert, I ordered the Churros with chocolate sauce on the side. It arrived promptly, and we all shared the small sweet treat. Wifey, after a restroom visit, commented it was "decent" but suggested an air freshener wouldn't hurt. Although the service was a bit low-energy, our overall experience at Frida's was very good, and we'd definitely...
Read moreFirst off this IS my favorite Mexican spot up until it wasn’t. I love their food and environment. On a Sat me and two other ppl went around 7o’clock and I had my regular lamb chop meal, flautas, etc. Food was good per usual. I ordered one of the giant mimosas that came with crushed up ice which was also good until what I thought was ice was actually glass. I kept biting down on it and it was breaking like the other pieces and the last bite I cracked smh. I spit it out and examined it and had pricked my tongue in the process my friend confirmed it was glass. We called the waitress over I showed her, she gasped, apologized and took the drink from the table. She asked if I wanted another one ABSOLUTELY NOT MAM. I could’ve made a scene and let other patrons know to beware if they’re getting anything with ice but I didn’t want to do that being again my favorite Mexican restaurant. I was turned off and ready to go after that. My friend paid for our meal and yes the drink was taken off but there was no other discount. None of the Managers came to the table which was like DANG. Had I been in charge I’m coming by to apologize at the very least. I left and of course told a few people I knew who asked did I do a report or if the Manager didn’t anything and I didn’t. I went back in asked for the Manager and told him what happened he wasn’t aware, then another Manager said he wasn’t aware and claimed the Waitress told this lady Manager who doesn’t even speak English really. I broke it down and let him know what happened pointed out the waitress and he went to her and she confirmed. He told me it’s ok we have insurance for incidents like this and had us to fill out an incident report and told me the “Owner” would reach out to me. This was almost two months ago and still nothing. I called several times and finally got that Manager on the phone and he said oh yeah I remember you, I told the Owner and he was to call you, he didn’t call I’m like no so he said I’m going to call him. This is very unprofessional and they’re trying to ignore it. Had I swallowed the glass could’ve caused damage perhaps but thank God I didn’t. Nonetheless I won’t be visiting my favorite Mexican restaurant anymore due to their negligence and lack of management skills. I will be contacting the appropriate department to report their negligence and let my Lawyer know they never contacted me as I didn’t want this to even...
Read moreFirst let me start with my own experience from start to finish. I drove a hour to try this place and I could have went to where I knew for a fact I was getting great everything from.. Management should keep in mind the hosts are the first point of contact for your guests they where my biggest complaint in fact I almost left because they where so bad… there where like four of them and three of them where on the phones texting laughing watching stuff .. I came in with my baby in my arms no car seat I was sat I had to sit there for awhile and eventually get up and go back up to the host stand to ask for a high chair they where at this point sitting down and on their phones ! I have to go up there a second time because my menu was nasty it had food in the inside you would think if they have time to play on their phones they wouldn’t have time to wipe the menus down … this made me feel like the place wasn’t sanitary.. the third time I encountered them I had to say excuse me several times because they where in the walk way to the restroom again… on their phones. The restrooms could have been more put together. The server was very nice although she disappeared a few times for long periods of time but anything we asked for she got for us and she was patient because I was being indecisive plus I never been here before so I appreciate her for that. The nachos where full of meat but they where not good queso was watery nachos had carrots and potatoes I didn’t know we ordered stew 🥴 the portions where great drinks where ok bartenders where friendly the manager Jesus was nice lots of parking so that was great it’s in the air if I would come back prices where decent I wouldn’t drive to come if I ended up there I would maybe go back but there’s so many places to...
