We came to see Oliver Tree, we ended up next to a very drunk family, the very large shirtless man decided we were too close (it was packed! We were allllll close!) He and his wife screamed at us and as my young daughter and I tried to move away, they followed us, pushing my daughter who is 4"11 and could not defend herself to the onslaught of the man, the woman scratched and clawed me as we continue to try to move away, finally security came, THANK GOD (we thought!) They removed the couple and made us leave as well!? We only tried to move away from these phychos. We just wanted to see the show we paid for. We touched noone and yet we were made to leave? I've never felt so unprotected in a venue, JJs does not protect women. They do not look out for you or remove the harm from you, instead they send you out to the parking lot with the people trying to hurt you. Thank God for mace! I'm literally in shock that in this day and age this venue does not look out for single women being abused. The security was a joke, power hungry little dude just happy to have someone to kick out, super rude, I have heard the management doesn't really care about complaints and it's run like a free for all. It was our first time there and trust, we won't be back, after telling others what happened I've heard a lot of similar stories. What a joke. I left with a black eye and scratches..... unbelievable. In such uncertain times, knowing that a venue devalues women and their safety is actually kind of scary...
Read moreFirst off - we got there early to try and catch the opener. When we finally got in the door the opener was already at the end of their set. The line to get in was wrapped around the building and it took forever to get in! Was really hoping to see the opener but we missed them completely which was pretty disappointing.
There were still people in line trying to get in when the headliner went on. Not sure if they oversold tickets or didn’t plan for enough security, but the process to get in the door was slow and inefficient. Lines for the bathrooms and bar were awful.
I struggled to see anything the entire show. The stage is way too low and it’s difficult to see from the GA area. Looks like they’re aware of that - there are TV monitors in the back with the show playing on it. There were others who I could tell were having trouble seeing anything. It’s just not a good stage set up.
The balcony in the middle area cuts the sound so if you’re at a busy show and have to stand in the back, the sound quality just isn’t great. Plus they add to the visibility issues with all of the columns in the way. Might have been better if there were an extra set of house speakers in the back area. Higher quality cameras to the front TVs could have made up for the visibility issues.
I really wanted to like this place more, we came from out of town for a show and ended up leaving early because the view and sound were pretty subpar. I don’t think we’ll be back. The bartenders were...
Read moreI wish I could say I've had a good time at this venue as I've been there multiples times. Unfortunately the security is lacking, as well as the bartenders cutting off people before they've gone too far. I went for flipturn with my friend and a group of girls in the VIP section pelted us with drinks and ice. We went to the security guards multiple times and absolutely nothing was done. It ruined the experience for us, and we ended up leaving early- as the security told us they had taken care of it as they were still acting like its the ice age. This is one of the biggest issues I've had here but between bathrooms being closed, porta-potties overflowing, and the worst drinks you've ever had combined with lack of security- this is the most unsafe venue I've been at- worst than the piano bar 💀. I hope you guys can take a second and redo how you have things set up because a basic bag check in isn't it. Also, if you're solo-- don't leave your drink uncovered even when it's in your hand. Security will not care- will actively comment if you're lacking any kind of defensive items when youre surrounded by people, and you will be left to figure out your situation. We have multiple photos and videos as proof, and are willing to share with the owners. Stay safe and PLEASE do not come to JJ's alone- but with a group you have a 50% chance...
