So, my review isn’t based on the food. The food was actually good. My review is on the service.
Here’s what happened. My husband and I visited Logan’s for our date night. Prior to ordering, we explained to the server that my mother-n-law had purchased gift cards for us. She forgot to give them to us when we were home visiting. Before we asked her to mail them, we told her we would see if the restaurant could manually enter the numbers for us to redeem the credit. We had a picture of the cards along with their numbers and pins. Well, the server said it wouldn’t be an issue, and asked for us to write down the numbers, which I did.
Fast forward to about twenty-five minutes later after we’ve received our meals and drinks. The manager came over with this blank expression on his face. He asked if we were trying to use gift cards. I said yes. He proceeded to unapologetically inform us that we couldn’t do that. He said he had to have the physical cards. Confused, I politely explained that we asked the server prior to ordering if it was okay for us to provide the numbers. His nonchalant response was, “we can’t do that.” He then turns and walks away.
By this point, we’re highly upset. So, when the server comes over to apologize and say she didn’t understand why they couldn’t do it, I took that moment to express my disdain for how her supervisor handled the situation. I let her know that not only didn’t he show any empathy for a mistake his staff made, but that he was also very matter of fact about the situation. She mentioned that was just his character. I let her know that as a business owner myself, he can’t just be that way with customers. It’s not a good look.
In the server’s defense, she did try to ask the supervisor if he would allow some kind of discount since it was her error. Unfortunately, he was too set in his ways to accommodate us.
The biggest issue for us was how the situation was handled, and the lack of concern for how the supervisor made us feel. His demeanor was off when he initially approached our table. Additionally, what if we didn’t have the funds to cover the meal, and was banking solely on the gift cards? Also, what if the gift cards didn’t swipe properly had we had them present? Wouldn’t they have had to enter the numbers manually? I mean, that’s what the website said.
I understand policies, and wasn’t expecting for anyone to break rules. At the same time, maybe management should do a better job with training their staff on how to properly answer questions when they’re not entirely aware. It would also behoove him to take a few courses himself on what real customer service looks like. This could prevent situations like this from escalating...
Read moreMet up with fiancé’s family for lunch on our way back from a trip out of town. Waitress made us feel like a burden for showing up later.
There was lots of confusion about our checks. Waitress told us because one check already tabbed out and she put in our order after that she wasn’t able to split the checks. I have some years of experience in waitressing and was genuinely confused by this, I had never heard of a POS system doing this. Maybe I had just never worked with a system that does that. By that logic, if there was a huge group of people to which some people tabbed out early, no one else would’ve been able to order anything without it messing up? When I asked her to get clarification, she was extremely flustered, kept cutting me off and had extreme attitude. I asked her if she was able to add a new check to a made up table (some systems allow you to create your own table number) and she said she wouldn’t have had a way to make sure the food made it to our table. (Even though she was the only one running food in our area.) I then asked about the special modification button to which she could’ve typed in anything including “send to table _”. But she cut me off, again. Eventually I had enough of it, and politely asked for the manager to which she huffed and replied, “I’ll gladly get him for you” while walking away.
The manager wasn’t any better, in fact, much worse. When I asked for clarification on the POS system he said it was a glitch. And I explained to him that the waitress was making it sound like the system they use was supposed to function that way. In the middle of me trying to explain, he cut me off and said, “You’re absolutely more than welcome to come work the system yourself if you’d like.”
Absolutely ridiculous. I will not ever come back. I didn’t catch their names, nor did I care to. But my parents are regulars and are well known by this manager that disrespected me. I do not care what the waitress said to him, he is a MANAGER and should NOT be anything but professional when dealing with ANY customer. He NEVER would have spoken to my parents like that, so why did he do it to me? I was extremely calm and polite, I never snapped at anyone or raised my voice. Completely...
Read moreFirst off: My server Mel was absolutely excellent. Drinks and food was served in a timely manner, she was kind with high charisma. She checked in on us multiple times, and we were not kept waiting for anything at all on a VERY busy night. She is sole reason this is a 4 star and not a 3. Her service was beyond 5 star in itself.
The Food: The flavor. Not the dishes quality, the quality is hot and fresh and served on time. This is not an insult to the kitchen. Its to the recipe itself. The bread rolls were hot, however they were bland. I ordered the Alfredo mushroom steak pasta, everything was cooked correctly. However it just wasn't a good meal. The flavors did not fit together and the onions on top were just too muchand did not pair with it at all. It wasn't to my liking and compared to the other restaurants I've been to in the area it was very mid tier tasting food. The person I came to got a burger, it was very particular and specific. The burger was great however the meat had seasoning that just didn't work. Everything was cooked correctly, it was hot and fresh, I think this place needs to review the recipes. Could just be us not liking the flavors. It was just unsatisfying.
Atmosphere: the place was very calm and nice even though there was a huge Christmas party going on. It was very dim lighting so it did feel more like a bar than a restaurant. It might be nice to give it a little bit more light in the evening. It was nice, but it felt like we were in a cave. It was clean, also the bathroom was clean.
After thoughts: the service was great, although majority of my food was put in a to go box (my roommate ate the left overs, he also agreed steak with Alfredo was a bad combination and should just be separated dishes). The experience was still pleasant, but I probably won't return here. With the other options in the area I have other locations that are just better. If you want to compete in that area you have to be worth going to. I appreciated service but why would I go to a mid tier steak house if longhorn is right next to you? I go back to there specifically for those cheesy...
