My husband and I normally love this place. One of the few restaurants that carry gluten free and vegan products. On Mother's day, we decided to go out to give me (Mom) a break from cooking. We even made reservations. We had 7 people in our party. This was the first time I was very disappointed in the service and food. We ordered two appetizers, the hummus and the bruschetta thingy's. The bruschetta came out without the drizzle sauce on them & the hummus only had pita bites, no carrots and celery. I have a gluten allergy so, I didn't get to eat the hummus. We, let it slide because it was just a small issue. But, then one of the salads had the wrong dressing. And the other two had burnt crutons...we sat for 45 minutes before 4 of our party got their pizzas. We had a 2 year old that was getting very hangry, when they bring out my pizza (as I said before, I have a gluten allergy...so I ordered gluten free crust) my pizza did not have a gluten free crust. So, we send it back. At this point we have been there for an hour. We remind them of our daughter's pizza and grandbabies pretzel, they had forgotten to make them. We recieved an apology from our server...but, then an excuse that the kitchen was very busy with a catering event that they were too busy with to get our orders correct. After an hour of waiting, half our party done eating...the 2 mother's of the group and the baby finally get our pizza's and pretzel. Which we had to get to go since it was now so late. We went to pay, they had added stuff that we didn't have onto our tab. Glad my husband look before we paid. By the time we get to eat our pizza's they are cold. But, I scarf mine down because it was 8 o'clock and I was starving. Then apparently they cross contaminated my pizza because I was very sick all night. Happy Mother's day from Mellow Mushroom. My suggestion, if you have a catering event, make sure to have enough personel on staff to be able to attend to the customer's in the your restaurant. They are important also. I will not be going back anytime soon. I'm scared to get cross...
Read moreThe whole experience took one and a half hours for two adults and two under two. We were seated immediately and drinks arrived. We ordered a single large pizza and some cheese sticks. It took about 45 minutes from that point for us to get our food. The cheese sticks were distinctly not warm and it would not have been good cheese sticks even if they were. The dipping sauce was acceptable. The pizza itself was warm-ish, not cold but certainly not hot. The sauce is underwhelmingly sweet, reminding me of Ragu, and the crust is not memorable. The cheese and pepperoni along with the other toppings were quite tasty. Unfortunately, the entire thing was not as good because of the temperature of all of the food we received. (When heated in the oven the next day it was significantly better.) Because of how long we had been there, our oldest had become cranky by the time the food arrived about 50ish minutes after we were seated and so was becoming irritated. We each ate one slice of pizza and some of the cheese bread and were underwhelmed, so we asked for the ticket. Unfortunately, our waitress had disappeared after taking our order and giving us our first refill, and I can only assume the manager was the one who delivered our pizza and returned to us to give us our second and final refill when we asked for the ticket. It took approximately another half hour to get the ticket brought to our table and our card swiped. Even in the best of circumstances, a single mediocre pizza (even when heated it wasn't great) and cheese sticks along with waters would not be worth $43 before tip. I cannot recommend...

With its harmonious blend of tangy pineapple, savory ham, and zesty barbecue sauce, each bite is a symphony of sweet and savory goodness. The crust is perfectly baked to achieve that ideal balance between chewy and crispy, providing a satisfying foundation for the flavorful toppings.
However, despite the culinary delight, the service at the bar left much to be desired. The lackluster attention from the bartender compelled me to bypass them entirely and approach the girls at the register to place my order to go. This disconnect between the quality of the food and the service detracted slightly from the overall experience.
Nevertheless, the psychedelic atmosphere of Mellow Mushroom remains a standout feature, adding an extra dimension to the dining experience. The vibrant colors, whimsical décor, and laid-back ambiance contribute to the restaurant's unique charm, making it a favorite haunt for those seeking a dose of eccentricity with their meal.
While the Maui Wowie pizza undoubtedly satisfies the palate with its delicious combination of flavors, improvements in service could elevate the overall dining experience at Mellow Mushroom. Yet, its quirky atmosphere ensures a memorable visit nonetheless.
P. S. Corporate... Bring back the jerk chicken hoagie. It was the best thing on the menu for years. Not the remake that came along later, but...
