On July 22, 2024, I had a very shocking and terrible experience at San Miguel. I have been a fan of this restaurant for many years. The Stuffed Avocados are my favorite!! I was excited to introduce a friend and my son to this place, as we live in a different town, so I don’t get go as often as I’d like. The first disappointment was they don’t have a light eaters menu for smaller portions, like many other places do. Then, my friend ordered the spinach enchiladas, and it came loaded with mushrooms, which was not included in the description, and she cannot stand mushrooms. Fortunately, they replaced it with mushroom-free spinach enchiladas. The problem comes in with I ordered a chicken quesadilla a la carte. The waitress did not clarify they don’t have that, and ran the ticket as the dinner. So, they charged us $12.95 for chicken, cheese, and bread. When I went to check-out, I tried to discuss the charge and what I ordered. The guy said they didn’t have an a la carte quesadilla, only the dinner, and “if you choose to not get the lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, and everything, that’s your choice.” I said “every Mexican restaurant I’ve been to has an a la carte quesadilla”. He said, “that doesn’t mean we have to fall into their box.” Then I suggested they at least charge me for the kid’s quesadilla meal. He said “that’s only for kids”. I had said something about $13 for that was ridiculous, especially when I ordered it as a la carte, and we just wouldn’t be back then. He went off about “if you went to McDonald’s and order a burger without a bun, they’d still charge you the full price and you’d pay it without asking for a discount.” And, I think he went on saying something about it would be the same for any other restaurant if you don’t get the sides, you’d still pay for it. I say “I think”, because I kept “I understand that, but…”, and he’d interrupt me to continue going off on this, so I didn’t catch everything he was saying. I was so shocked that he was arguing with me like that. I’ve never had this kind of experience. So, I finally told him “you know, you shouldn’t be arguing with me about this like this. This is very poor customer service.” And, he continued with his previous argument, and I said “I understand, but…”. He actually said, “you keep saying you understand, but I don’t think you do.” WHAT?! Well, he never let me finish a sentence! And, to his McDonald’s argument, or other restaurants, we can order off the Kids Menu without discretion!! We can order smaller meals or the a la carte items we want. I’ve never been treated like that. When he handed me my ticket to sign, there wasn’t a pen on the counter, so I held out my hand for a pen, and he walked off!! So, I took ALL my tickets, and didn’t leave one behind for him to fill in however he wanted, because clearly he could not be trusted. I am absolutely disgusted at this horrific customer service – all because he didn’t want to reduce the cost by $5 – 7?? They had a handful of customers during the dinner hours. I don’t think they could afford to lose current or future customers (because of people I work with and plans we had of visiting), but I guess he...
Read moreBeen there at least 10 times in 2022. Food is always delicious. However the service is horrible! Waiting for 10 minutes or more to be sat with no host or anyone at the door within a reasonable amount of time to seat people. Same goes when paying the bill. Our server the last time was kind but not attentive. And while we waited 35 minutes for. Stevens special and steer tacos, we had 4 different employees come to us with other tables food.. food to feed 4 or more, asking if it was as ours! We had 3 tables on our side of the restaurant and this was no rush hour time frame. Used the ladies restroom and the smell was horrid… no one is as in there , it smelled of raw sewage. Toilets sit lower than the stall door so someone could easily see me seated with my pants down. Look I’m in the hospitality industry and I’ve worked restaurants. I have family that have bars and restaurants. It’s clear someone isn’t hiring good employees or they’re running them off. You have excellent food and there is no reason why you should be lacking in service or so greedy with your salsa.. I’ve encountered that too and read about in your reviews. I will not send my Hilton customers to your restaurant as I have tourists from all over that always look for local restaurant recommendations. Get it together or you’ll run most everyone off in the area and you won’t last another 2 or 3 years. There are plenty of other options with better service.
Response to owners response: I appreciate you responding. I’m not looking for a freebie. All I’m asking is to get the service factor in your restaurant on a quality level. I’ll be back at least few more times this year to see if anything has improved. I’ve got plenty of friends and family that have been paying attention as well. Make positive changes and you’ll be one...
Read moreWe seen this place from the road getting off of full-bright exit. We decided to try it. 1st off a tea was 3.45! Thats not what it shows online.. My husband gets a mix fajita with 2 beef tacos. I got what was supposed to be a cheese quesadilla by itself and 2 tacos with a side of sour cream and pico. Our food comes out and we don’t even have silverware. My husbands fajita is wrong as he wanted chicken and steak and they brought him just steak. They take it back and we ask for some silverware. It takes the lady FOREVER to come back with it. The tacos were soft be-time she comes back. They bring my husband's fajita’s back and he doesn’t have his tortillas, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, or cheese. We ask one lady and she said she’d go check they had to remake it. She brings back tortillas. Another lady comes out and asks for a refill and he told her sweet tea. Finally our server comes back and asks how everything is and my husband tells her it would be better if he got his vegetables, cheese, and sour cream. She says “you didn't want guacamole so you cant have it” and we said alright fine I got my wifes since hers came with the exact thing I’m asking for and she didn’t even ask. Why can they give it to me when I didn’t ask but he can’t get it when it was clearly supposed to come with it according to the menu. My son got what was supposed to be mini corndogs and it was one large corndog so he wouldn’t eat it (because 2 year olds are picky). The cheese dip looked like white queso but tasted more like water with a hint of cheese. We finally see our server again and get a box and check. The quesadilla was 6.99 and thats not what the menu said. The tacos were 7.80 for two and not what the menu said. The drink was 3.45 and thats not what...
