I like to think i'm a pretty chill person. However, every once in awhile, someone or something gets under my skin and I need to talk about it. So with that said, i'm here to tell you about my awful experiences with PizzaHut. Anyone who looks at my account can tell that I only review places when they really, reallyyyyy frustrate me and in my defense, it takes a lot to get to that point.
Today I got done with a big home project and thought I might reward myself with some pizza. So, I placed an order for several items, including a 2 liter of Starry soda (aka rebranded Sierra Mist for those of you who haven't realized). Unfortunately, the drink never arrived. Now, normally I'd just let this go and ask customer service to refund me. No biggie, stuff happens, right? Wrong. I've noticed a pattern of failure with this location. For some reason, this location uses Door Dash as a third party delivery service *some of the time." I'm assuming this is either because of lunch/dinner rushes or because they can't keep drivers. I'm not sure which one it is but either way, Door Dashers are at best hit or miss. I think a sensible person would check the receipt before picking up an order to ensure the customer is receiving everything they ordered. For small format orders with sealed bags, I understand why this may not happen. Especially after covid. However, for Pizza Hut? A missing 2 liter is, well, kind of obvious is it not? Anyway, this has happened on more than one occasion and looking back, every time it involved a door dash driver.
Side note, what in the heck is the delivery fee for? It's my understanding that it isn't a tip and never has been. If it relates to the cost of delivery drivers, bags, etc, just build that into your food costs. Good grief.
Okay, okay, back to the topic at hand. If you've made it this far you might be asking yourself, "what's the big deal?" Well, the big deal is that Pizza Hut customer service (CS) is near useless. That's the icing on the cake. The cherry on top. The straw that broke this camel's back. Sorry, I'll stop with the idioms now.
I reached out to Pizza Hut CS to see about getting a refund. The first thing I noticed is that they asked for numerous pieces of information one after the other instead of lump sum. To clarify what I mean, they first asked me to verify my name, email, and phone number. Okay. Cool. Then they asked me for my address and the address of the store. Okay... cool, but why didn't you just ask for that in the first series of questions? THEN, they asked me for the order date, total, and order number. Brother, just list all the questions you need answered in one go. It's even worse because every response takes 1-2 minutes. Not only that, but why can't CS see my order history once they have my email? I mean cmon, we have robotic dogs that can open doors now (look up Boston Dynamics Spot if you dont believe me). It's 2025 y'all.
"Confirm this information: yata yata" "Yep that's right" 2 minutes elapses "Okay, now provide this information: yata yata" "Here you go" another 2 minutes elapses
See where I'm going with this? It's a time-sink and to add salt to the wound, the session timed out. Good luck getting hold of that CS agent to resume your interaction at that point. I gave up the idea of recouping my $3 and some change and opted to make this Google review instead (also, the markup on soda at these places is ridiculous).
I'm tired of it and mostly just needed to vent. The minute a Dominos pops up in southeast Fayetteville, I suspect that this Pizza Hut will go out of business.
Also for what it's worth, I've had to call up there a couple times due to a late order (30 minutes late, not 10 or 15) and the staff were always nice. But boy are there some problems on the back end. I hope they sort their stuff out but Pizza Hut as a company/franchise is pretty lame so I don't have much hope. I've decided I'll no longer be indulging in their product though. I'd rather drive to Farmington to pickup Dominos at this point. The food is...
Read moreIf there was an option to leave zero stars, I would. Really wanted to try the new Detroit Style pizza, so ordered two for our household of 5 adults. Also ordered some cheesesticks, a cookie, and a bunch of sauces. All together came out to $69.82 (including a 20% tip for delivery.) Waited about an hour, driver finally gets here (ignoring my request to not ring my doorbell because I have loud dogs and two babies under 1 here.) My husband goes to get the delivery, it is 1 box, and two wing containers. Obviously not what we ordered, so my husband went out to let the delivery driver know it was the wrong order. The drivers response to this was "he was off work and therefore could not help us, we would have to call the store and let them know." Okay, kind of annoying, but doable. My husband then proceeds to call the store (I will admit he did cuss, he was hangry,) and explains the situation. Was told they would send a replacement order, no apology for the mixup, but okay, I really want to try this pizza. Another hour goes by and these pizzas are still not at my house. We are all understandably frustrated, so my husband calls the store again, and gets told our order still hadn't left the store, at this point he just asked for a refund and told them we didn't want it anymore. I am not a huge complainer, and have worked in customer service for almost 10 years, and that is just ridiculous. They said they issued the refund, but this seems ridiculous to me that in 2 hours I couldn't get my order delivered, I literally could've driven all the way to Missouri, picked up pizza from there and made it back in this time. Literally will never order from this store again, mostly because the customer service was garbage. TL:DR in over two hours, didn't get a pizza and am quite...
Read moreI only gave one star cause I had to... I have ordered from here three times now. The first time was great. The second I ordered on valentines day like you know one of those heart shaped pizzas. My boyfriend and I were gonna eat it while watching a movie together cause we didn't want to go out and fight a crowd. I ordered it and had the delivery time set to 8. I got a call at 7 and they were like I'm here and neither I or my boyfriend where there to pick it up so he was like ok i'll bring it back at 8 and i was like ok thanks. so 8 comes along and nothing so we waited until 9:30 to call back and ask where it was and they were like oh your order got "lost"... so they gave my $25 credit so I ordered a third time because I had credit=free food, but when i called the store directly to place my order, my credit was not found... the lady had to talk to three different people to get me my credit and when I went to place my order, they wouldn't let me order what i wanted even though when I asked if i could have ordered it at the beginning of the conversation they said yes... so they gave me another number that I had to call which was a Pittsburg number... the lady there had no clue what she was doing, and i had to repeat my order to her 3 times. She also called me back and had me repeat my address cause she sent it to the wrong location...My order was finally made and the guy delivering it was super rude. The pizza was not cooked all the way and the breadsticks were chewy. Overall, skip pizza hut and order eureka, it taste better and you can get a tone of more food for a...
