I found Deborah by a Google search. She was the highest--rated in the Fayetteville area. After working with her, I can honestly say she BEYOND deserves this rating. Her cakes not only look AMAZING, but they taste AMAZING. Her lemon cake with raspberry filling and white chocolate frosting was very moist and delicious! Her attention to detail in the cake décor was incredible. She created a beret for the cake that not only had the appropriate unit patch and rank, but had a fold down the front that rivals those of most Soldiers! As a veteran, I was impressed with her accuracy, and it was because of her attention to detail. You can tell she takes pride in what she does and it shows. Her shop, which is attached to her house, is spotless and clean. She is the NICEST person to work with, too. She was in constant communication with me and even called to make sure I didn't have any last-minute requests. When I showed up not sure how to transport the cake, she helped me arrange it in my vehicle and gave me a non-skid sliding surface to put it on (side note--think ahead, customers!). Additionally, I gave her a budget and she actually stayed BENEATH the budget. Unbelievably reasonable. I would have paid $30-40 more for the cake we received! Our military achievement cake was the talk of the party. I would HIGHLY recommend Deborah to anyone near Fort Bragg looking for a superb baker. Deborah, I hope to work with you again...

My pickup was confirmed via email by Deborah for today between 10am and 1pm. I get to the location, which is a personâs house and there is no signage or anything on the door indicating that this was a cake business. I shouldâve known this experience would be terrible. I knock on the door; the lady doesnât greet me but looks at me like I am the police or something. I said Iâm here to pick up a cake. The lady goes âfrom who?â...so Iâm thinking am I in the right place? đ§ I told her - Deborah Franklin; she goes âOh but I donât have any cakes but come inâ. So I told her I confirmed a cake for today and she goes âOh well my computer crashedâ so I have no cakes today. If your computer crashed, you donât have a backup system? A calendar? My order was confirmed via email, an email can be accessed from anywhere. Plus I double confirmed before I got to the location. On top of that, she was not apologetic & didnât offer a solution. She was very combative. Basically, her attitude was- Her computer crashed so oh well, what did I want her to do about it. On top of that, she has no mask on. I got my refund and got out of there!    Read moreIt seems like this business may very well be fine, but they are disorganized. If you choose to use them, you have to stay on top of them to actually provide service. Maybe a few extra calls to make sure they remember, and be very clear about expectations. From the pictures, they seem great. But from my experience, I was very disappointed with their service.
I ordered a cake through Speciality Cakes two weeks in advance, and provided all the relevant information. I was assured the cake would be made. Then, today, on my wife's birthday, when I called to ask about delivery or pick-up, the woman said she simply forgot because she was busy, and that I should have called to remind her. That is unprofessional and irresponsible to depend on your customers to call you and remind you to provide the service you agreed to provide. Then, she said she wouldn't provide a service to someone she did not receive a 50% deposit for---which she did not mention when I made the order two weeks prior.
The woman seemed genuinely apologetic, and I know business can be tough when things were busy. However, the result is a very disappointed customer. She provided no assurance of benefit on future orders, or hurrying to help, or anything to make up for the failure. To me, that is a glaring issue in a business.
