Gilbert Theater — Attraction in Fayetteville

As someone who's seen hundreds of Broadway shows (and hundreds more off Broadway, off off Broadway, regional, etc.) I absolutely love that my first time seeing a production of "Heathers: The Musical" was in Fayetteville at the Gilbert Theater. The company did a wonderful job bringing the story to life in a small space with a limited budget. Plenty of creativity and talent. My audience visibly and audibly had so much fun. I enjoyed the intimate environment of a black box theater. And all the employees and volunteers were friendly. Very reasonable ticket prices, and excellent, donation-based concessions options. This is an excellent theater with a very intimate feel. Everyone was outstanding from the staff to the cast. Looking forward to seeing many more performances here.

In addition, I just saw Evil Dead: The Musical here. Definitely a funny and campy show that brought both Evil Dead and ED2: Dead by Dawn mixed in with lots of puns, blood and a few 'below the belts' to Sam and Bruce. When we first went into the theater this evening, I was a little bit concerned that maybe I had wasted my money. Once the play started, I was very pleasantly surprised. The actors and actresses did a great job! The props were simple but tasteful. The costumes were tastefully designed. Mr. Potter and George Bailey were my two favorites of the actors.
