Went to O'Brian's recently with a couple of friends. We ordered the "Reuben" sandwich. I put "Reuben" in quotes because this sandwich was the farthest thing from a real Reuben that I've ever had. First, you could barely see any meat on it and you certainly couldn't taste it. Next, it had some sort of purple cabbage slaw that was somewhat sweet, instead of the sauerkraut that should have been on it. And there was no Thousand Island dressing anywhere. When I asked for some, I was charged $1.00 extra, for something that should have come on the sandwich to begin with! The server asked what sides we wanted only to find out later that we were charged $2.00 for the side! So I spent $19.00 for the worst sandwich I've ever had! The server was good (and the only reason for 2 stars instead of 1), she was the best part of the whole experience. Needless to say, none of us will ever go back... Perhaps they need to change the name of the sandwich instead of trying to pass off this horrible excuse of a sandwich as a...
Read moreWe’ve been coming to Amelia Island for a few years now and have always driven/walked by Overtime Grill, but never ate there until this trip. Overtime Grill is an absolute hidden gem, and it’s just a short walk from Downtown Fernandina. All of the appetizers sounded great, but we ended up choosing the pretzel bites and queso. The pretzel bites were crunchy on the outside, but soft on the inside and paired well with the slightly spicy queso. We both chose the pork belly burger and it was one of the best burgers we’ve had anywhere. Just the burger patty itself was seasoned well and cooked perfectly, but the pork belly and spicy Asian slaw added another dimension to the experience. The pork belly gave it a smoky bite while the Asian slaw gave it a bit of a spicy crunch. The sweet sauce on the side gave you the extra flavor if you wanted it, but the burger had plenty itself. The crinkle fries were seasoned perfectly and were delicious too! If you’re in the area, Overtime Grill is...
Read moreFrom start to finish, everything was great! Greeted very warmly upon arrival, seated right away, (on a Friday night no less), got immediate service, relaxed casual outside covered seating area with 2 large screen TV's, and food was delicious! Sam, our server was wonderful! She was very attentive, knowledgeable about the beers and menu items and very personable! It was the perfect place to just relax, have some really great food and a get-away from the tourist crowds. It really is a hidden gem, great for the locals! The Philly cheesesteak was delicious (and that's coming from a Pennsylvania girl) and the fries uniquely cut and delicious. We will definitely be returning! Thanks Sam! Great sense of humor! You really added to the joy of the evening! Hope to be back soon! Kudos...
