FAILURE! NOTHING SPECIAL!
SEATING… I was part of a party of eight and called ahead to ask if they could accommodate us. They assured me it would not be a problem. When we arrived 15 minutes later, they crammed us into a booth that, at best, might seat six small individuals. There were plenty of empty tables available, so I inquired about moving one of those tables over to expand our cramped situation. Unfortunately, that was not an option. Not going to happen! – Instead, they were going to make all eight of us get up and stand in the waiting area again until something became available. I reminded them that I did call ahead yet they didn’t seem to care. No manager came to greet us or apologize—nothing!
WAITRESS… The waitress was great, but she seemed so overworked that all she could do was apologize for the mistakes that occurred.
FOOD… The food was okay but nothing special. I was disappointed that it was served in fragments, meaning one meal was half eaten before the others arrived, indicating the kitchen staff needed more training. Alfredo was bland, and to compensate, they added a pepper spice that overwhelmed any possible flavors. It was served at what felt like room temperature…aka cold. The Monte Cristo I ordered had a fair amount of meat, but it contained only a single slice of cheese (see attached photos) and should have been dusted with powdered sugar (as shown in their menu). I’ve eaten many Monte Cristos over the years from various restaurants, and this was the worst. Typically, this dish is loaded with meat and served oozing with cheese (try Cheddar’s or Sanford’s for a better version). Like the Alfredo, mine was also cold (inside). Additionally, I was charged for a salad that never arrived—our waitress should have been more attentive to this.
CHILDREN…Not a good place for small children. While, they do offer Kid’s meals, like a very expensive Mac & Cheese, there is no separate menu with crayons or activities. As a result, the wait time between ordering and receiving food can lead to boredom for children. Consequently, they fill up on drinks, which allow this place to charge for refills.
There are many wonderful alternative dining options in the area. I recommend trying a place that values good customer relations. I know that the next time I go out to eat, it...
Read moreThe menu sounded diverse and creative. Also quite expensive, so I did expect more from a $14 plate of food. It was also out of date since what I wanted to order was no longer available. The food was mediocre, maybe not even as good as a Chile’s or similar corporate restaurant chain. The servers and bartender were nowhere to be seen for nearly five minutes when I arrived to pick up my order. I decided to dine on my portion of the order while there but due to the extra wait (ten minutes over their estimate over the phone) I had to quickly eat my salad so I could get to my next appointment. The reason I ordered ahead was to cut any wait time and try to enjoy some quality food. The server was short with me and I got the feeling this was a “hometown” sort of place with regulars there to enjoy the gritty country music and peace of a nearly empty space at happy hour. I felt like she was obligated to be nice to me but still didn’t want to be. It was overall an unsettling experience. The wings seemed to be low quality frozen items, not served with carrot sticks or celery sticks at all. However, the blue cheese seemed homemade and had giant cheese chunks of which I am fond. I also appreciated the wheat croutons even if they were too large to chew without scraping the roof of your mouth. The green chili fries were also the same frozen shoe string style item you can get at the grocery store and were completely soggy. Overall I wouldn’t go back but I could see that it may be a local person’s cup of tea if they were treated right. In this area there are very few restaurants to choose from but I would still rather go to the local brewery for food or the next town over’s Georgia...
Read moreWe found this place for brunch on a Saturday. I'm so glad we did. We were seated immediately, although the parking lot looked full so I expected a wait. Our waitress Megan was so awesome. Very friendly & liked her vibe from the start. The atmosphere was lively but chill, if that makes sense. I highly recommend the peach bellini. It's not thick like some places. It's just the right amount of peach but they are generous with the champagne too. Loved it! And VERY fairly priced. They have this extreme Bloody Mary I wanna try next time. It's got a slider, a chicken wing & other garnishes. It'd be like a whole meal in itself. I was in a champagne mood today though. I ordered the sweet potato hash which was diced sweet potatoes, spinach, Brussels, 2 eggs, hollandaise sauce & a side of wheat toast. It normally also has sautéed onions in it, but I hate onions, so they left them out. It was so filling. My Hubby got the strawberry stuffed French toast & loved it. Our son got their Cap'N Crunch French toast & devoured it with a smile! For 2 adults & 1 kid (with a cocktail) it was $50. Not bad for the area & quality of the food / establishment. We'll definitely be back. They also have bottomless mimosas! Had to throw that in there because I've had alot of people ask where they do those! This...
